Not at all and I’ve been in this scene for 17 years. This isn’t the first time SF tried to make its games more accessible so I don’t know why NRS Would be the only ones being clowned for it. Shit, this site in particular was rough on Capcom games of the last 8 years because they were easier than their predecessors.
Ok sorry, I’m not attempting to be a failed indie dev, so I don’t know the exact terminology. All I know is that the game looks a lot like Injustice (and apparently other people are saying this too)
Having a story mode doesn’t mean you’re gonna play or fight every single character in the game. We only need a plot revolving around a few key characters and it will be fine.
Also adding one or two silly fights just to make room for the “side” characters is very easy to do.
Again I think you’re having trouble differentiating color palette from everything else. You turn the saturation on that trailer way up and animation wise i bet you’ll think it just looks like slightly odd MvC3…
Wow man that’s pretty dick. Just trying to be helpful since you don’t seem to know what you’re talking about and I spent 4 yrs of my life learning animation. If you’re allergic to ppl disagreeing with you and trying to help explain things then that’s cool.
Not against story mode it’s nice but I do believe having decent plot and origin can worked throughout the FGs, that it doesn’t need to elaborate and justify everything. For collision plots and rise of the machine type stories there are so many inspiration lately from other entertainment medias.
I’m allergic to developers coming in and acting like they own the place with their bullshit. “Oh I believe you are referring to the residualized color palette from the X73 line of processors, not the animation you pleb” The headline is that this shit looks a lot like in Injustice; I’m saying it, other people are saying it. Whether we are actually talking about palettes or animation or whatever the fuck isn’t really the point. You guys just can’t help but to start talking your nonsense
So when you got an opinion it’s cool but when someone else has an opinion and uses words you don’t understand it’s nonsense? I’m sorry using big words makes you feel inferior and need to lash out. I’ll make sure I speak like a 3rd grader so you’re not offended next time.
Newsflash: ppl will disagree with you. And unlike you, can actually explain why they think that way and have it make sense.
0:51 in the extended trailer is Morrigan and Cap, which is basically just a tag into aerial rave and a “DHC”. 0:51 in the older trailer looks like something out of Marvel 3.
Something from Injustice would be slower and smoother animating, with little to no switching between standing and crouching attacks, since they would be strings and not chains. It would have also ended in some wallbounce, juggle or capture state, since NRS’s engine does not use hitstun for combos.
I don’t even know what the contention is, the more features the better. if there is one you don’t like or care for just keep it moving,
as for Morrigan she is a character that has FAR exceeded the popularity of the franchise she is from, she is a capcom staple leaving her out is almost asinine
I did explain why. Frankly I don’t give a shit whether I’m talking about palettes or animation or whatever. The point was made and people undersood it. You came in talking your nonsense in classic “developer” fashion. It’s just typical indie devs coming in and being douchebags trying to slowly get the whole world to hate them (it’s working)
It’s not about that. It’s about the character YOU WANT to be part of the story, and some characters interracting with others.
A better approach is instead of an overarching story, have isolated chapters. Dissidia did something like that, where the characters all had mini interactions with each other. It’d be like the endings of UMvC3 for each character were instead fleshed out fully.
Example: Tron Bonne breaking into and robbing Stark Industries, coming across Mega Man X being repaired by Tony but wakes up being possessed by Sigma, so Tony buys/bribes Tron’s aid to fend X off.
Second example: Thor defends Loki from an Asura attack (because there’s literally no reason why Asura wouldn’t actively pursue curbstomping him), only to be interrupted by Akuma arriving looking for a challenge.
Each of these isolated events sounds more interesting and character faithful that ‘ZOMG guys, Abyss is attacking’
People are afraid Capcom will invest more time into the story mode than actually balancing/improving the gameplay.
And how many new non-X-men were added. Even then, Marvel was building up to their cinematic universe and were already making choices based on what they were focusing on moving forward.
