Some other Capcom series that could be added to MvC:I

Dark Void

One of Capcom’s new IP from the last generation. It’s a third person shooter which’s main selling point is aerial combat with a jetpack. If Capcom feels they need a flight character for their side of the roster this guy is a solid choice. The flight would give him an edge over other “guys with guns” characters and him feel less redundant.

Maximo

The spiritual successor of Ghosts n Goblins during the PS2 era.

I would love to see her back. I remember Capcom would give her cameos in their games in the mid and late 90s. Being tied to the AvP franchise would probably make her inclusion more trouble than it’s worth.

Why people want sense on a Marvel vs Capcom game? It’s the only setting you can have characters from any place/timeline without questioning the canon or whatever you wanna call it. I would love to see the interaction between X, MMZ Zero and Bass.EXE, and that kind of game is the only way of making it possible.

All Ryus use swords, so normals would be pretty generic and easy. His gimmick would be dragon transformations. If we go by BOF1 Ryu, he could turn into big dragons, maybe with each button combination being one element. On BOF2, his dragon transformations was only a single attack, so I don’t think he would be a good choice (but he is the only one with a full name, Ryu Bateson, and would solve the two Ryus problem). On BOF3, you picked 3 “dragon genes” to create a wide variety of dragons, so I think it would be too much work for them to implement, and if they left out a couple of dragons, it would let people down. The best pick would be BOF4 Ryu, since his dragon transformation is pretty much still a human, and his big dragon form could be just a cinematic lv3, and he only uses fire. But, if they do want Ryu, Fou-lu is a better pick. He is Ryu’s other half, and can do the same things, but with some better things going on, and also is a easy way to avoid having two Ryus. Different from Ryu, he has a personality since he actually talks, and is a villain, which Capcom side lacked on 3. Moveset wise, he uses ice, which also lacks on fighting games. He has two shishis (A-tur and Won-qu) they could implement too. I see him as a regular sword user with simple attacks, some teleport like command dash, his shishis as specials, and on his dragon form he would be able to fly, air dash, and cast ice moves. To be faithful to his rpg origins, his transformation could drain meter slowly instead of having a time limit.
Nina uses all elements on BOF1-3, and only wind on 4, and can fly. She could be a mobile zoner. Her BOF1 version uses a rapier, her BOF2 uses a ring with some energy attack like Magneto, and her BOF3 and 4 versions use staffs. BOF1-3 Nina would be pretty much zoners, casting all elements. BOF4 Nina would be Storm’s replacement. Also, her BOF2 version has a shaman form they could implement. They would include her BOF1 version on UMVC3, but her BOF2 version was the highest BOF character on a japanese poll, and is the version that got turned into a HH card.
Bleu is also a magic user like Nina and control all elements, so pretty much another zoner. She is an immortal lamia on BOF1-3 (those games follow a single timeline, and she is the same character through all them), and that would be a fun design to have. On 4, she has a human form and is a god trapped on an armor called Ershin. If they go with her BOF1-3 appearance, they could implement Ershin on her moveset because why the fuck not.
I don’t see them picking an obscure character from an already obscure IP, but they have Garr (shows up on Dr. Strange’s ending), who is a big body with wings and a spear. Katt, who is a cat girl and could replace Felicia and was considered for 3 with Mai-ling and Son-son because they use staffs. Rei (shows up on Hawkeye’s ending), who is another cat person, uses daggers and has a weretiger transformation (rushdown character that turns into a Hulk sized Wolverine). Momo is a scientist girl that uses a rifle. She is from BOF3, but has a cameo on 4, which would fit into the story as a dimensional travel shenanigan. Also, Lupinko posted a picture of her, either hinting at her directly, a BOF3 rep, or just a BOF rep in general.
Damn, look at the size of that text. I really fucking love BOF.

That Dark Void game is developed by Airtight Games, it’s just published by Capcom,

if either Maximo would be in probably we’ll lose Arthur?

Dark Void was a work for hire job. Usually it’s the publisher that holds the IP not the developer. Also, Capcom released a second Dark Void game that wasn’t developed by Airtight. The IP is Capcom’s.

LOL at people saying Frank West won’t be in. Like it or not, Dead Rising is one of Capcom’s biggest properties right now (in terms of mass appeal), and you can bet your ass that Frank will return, possibly with his DR4 design. For the same reason, I can guarantee we’ll get reps for Ace Attorney, Devil May Cry, and Resident Evil. The only major Capcom franchise that isn’t all but assured a place is Monster Hunter, and that has more to do with the series’ producer rather than the Marvel team.

For lesser known games, I imagine Capcom will look for playstyle variety and diversity from their existing cast. As RE/DR already do zombies and DMC has demons, I wouldn’t expect anything too dark or gritty.

Killer 7 character(s) plz

Make de Smith in a Marvel game

Yeah he’d be pretty cool. Grappler with grenade launcher zoning. Hes got a ton of moves in game to reference from also. Unless they went with the idea of somehow putting all 7 personalities into one character, Mask De Smith would probably be the best choice.

These Megaman discussions are silly. Umvc3 had 4 RE reps. Who is to say Megaman can’t or won’t have 4 either? For all we know, Capcom might be trying to phase Megaman back into existence. Hell the reveal started with X and I’m hella inclined to say the bad guys are sigma and Ultron. I agree that the zero series zero IS still the original in a different body, so why can’t we get him? I wouldn’t rule out classic mm either but also wouldn’t rule out bass or even protoman.

Bottom line is, there is no reason they would limit the reps to 2 or 3 if they have future plans for the series.

I also don’t get the arguments against BoF characters or obscure characters. Come on. They made phoenix and Frank playable characters…They can go nuts and be as stupid as they want with the moveset. Unless a character is obscure to the point of complete obsoletion, they have a chance.

Well, I hope they add 2 reps tops, maybe 3 for SF, MM and RE, just to give space for at least one character from other IPs. With the cinematic story mode, people will get to know more about some obscure characters instead of doing Street Avengers: Age of Sigmatron.

They’re likely to do seasons with new characters as dlc anyway. Tbh if the game sells well and keeps perpetual hype and support throughout it’d bound to have a long and successful dlc life.

Imagine sfv if it had released properly and been both ironed out and had better netcode at launch.

This is their fucking clean slate for success.

That’s precisely why I think they shouldn’t bloat the release cast with RE and SF. Leave Jack Baker, Akuma, Vergil and Zero for dlc and add Edward Falcon, Tessa, Regina and Fou-lu. People will get to know them and their respective IPs better, and they will make more money selling iconic characters than obscure ones.

Two reps are the most I want to see of a single Capcom series. I want to see some obscure characters make it in and those series can get a boost and potentially become fan favorites.

Two reps at launch is fine, but if we’re including DLC then I disagree. Series like SF, RE, MM & Darkstalkers have too many interesting characters to put aside for some D-list characters.

I just hoped they would bring in a reps from their other Fighters and Beat em Up.

I wonder if Odinson is gonna be redesigned.

Currently he has no hammer although he does have lightning powers and super strenght.

OG Thor style is all Jane Foster now…and better.

I wouldn’t mind.

Give her the proper lightning bolts Marvel treatment and then let’s Jiujitsu everybody too.

She would be a decent rival for Daredevil or Luke Cage (Iron Fist is out of her league, LOL! )

I can see him being simplified by removing his reverse dp. Pretty easy to do if the button layout is indeed lp lk hp hk.

Generally I agree with this.
The only exception I can grant is Street Fighter, because I can’t possibly imagine Chun-Li to not make the cut, and there are SO many more interesting SF characters to limit the franchise to two.
