The only Mega Man rep I see that’s not returning for MvCI is Tron Bonne, from a mechanics point, due to the game having no assists as opposed to MvC3/UMvC3. As for Chris and Jill, they’ll pretty much getting replaced by Leon S. Kennedy and Ada Wong. Also, I think Vergil has a better chance of being in the roster since Nero would play too similar to Dante in terms of moveset.
Yeah, I don’t think that’s possible though. I would rather see Zero return for MvCI since he’s X’s partner and will make a far better fit than Bass.exe. Plus, both X and Zero are important characters to the X series’ storyline.
Whatever floats your boat. I still don’t think I can see X going alone. He needs someone to interact with and Zero is the only character I can see being the answer. Also, X and Zero are a team. So, seeing Bass.exe on the roster instead of Zero just doesn’t make any sense. I would rather it be a all X series cast as far as I can tell. I don’t think the fans would mind.
This could be the Zero they would bring if they won’t reused stuff, Just hoped for Capcom that they would reconsider the previous Zero and make Sigma something not the Megaman X games Sigma.
The current Zero could be used for exploit and his super need major updates. Gems/Infinity Stones can be a major factor that some characters go into overhaul making them loose certain power-ups. like Genmu Zero, Sougenmu and even those super like the Slow of Viewtiful Joe.
Too much Swords in the game already, We got Sigma, Devil Cry characters and Strider hiryu already, Who knows we might get Hayato or Blistein.
They’ll be using X series Zero whether you like it or not because of his grudge against Sigma. Plus, I would rather see both Nina and Amaterasu be DLC for the game instead. As for Edward Falcon, he’s pretty unlikely to be in the game since Power Stone is a dead franchise.
I dunno, with this game, we don’t know if they’ll be trying to get a diverse roster of the characters we know due to gem shenanigans; I prefer classic Zero, but I can see them having X and then having a farther down in the future MMX Zero popping up as well.
Also, what mechanics would block Breath of Fire characters? I only played the first one like two decades ago, so I don’t remember much of it, but Capcom with the VS series can get pretty creative with characters who normally wouldn’t fit into a fighting game, and make it work; i.e. Phoenix Wright coming from a non-action, evidence based adventure game, Tron coming from a 3rd person shooter action game, etc. If they want it bad enough, they’ll find a way to include them, no matter the game of origin.
A Capcom character owned by Capcom won’t appear in a Capcom game. That doesn’t sound ridiculous at all.
X is interacting with Ryu in the debut trailer. X doesn’t have a dependency on Zero to require him to be around. X would be fine on his own.
MMZ Zero is still X series Zero. Sporting a different design doesn’t change his character. What it will do is change his moveset. Make use of the cyber elfs and different weapons he uses in the Zero series.
I’m afraid that we’ll be seeing an all X cast as far as Mega Man reps go because of that same reason. Plus, I can definitely see MMX series Zero getting in over MMZ series Zero if anything. Also, I take back what I just said about Breath of Fire characters not being suitable from a mechanics point. I guess they can go for the Phoenix Wright route for that.
Have anyone considered the possibilty of having Laura as the SFV rep? She’s a fast grappler with a projectile and a lot of her playstyle can be translated well to a Marvel game. Just imagine, character X starts a combo on his opponent, ends with a pseudo-launcher, tags into laura to perform a really ambiguous reset (low, throw, crossunder, overhead). Or Laura releases a charged thunder clap to make safe a raw tag.
If there is any Capcom character that long deserves an inclusion in MvCi is Rogue from Power Stone. Her character design is perfect for a 2D fighting game.
