Good for you, you have a new Street Fighter to play them on, just like there’s a new RE game every year. If I want to play the most recent BOF, I have to play that mobile shit.
SF and RE can have 3 reps at launch: Ryu, SFV rep, Leon and Wesker, and Chun-li, Akuma, a RE monster and Jack Baker tied to base roster or dlc. I don’t want fucking Sakura or Guile taking the spot of another IP.
I expect a lot of people are going to be disappointed when the character reveals start rolling in.
People are gonna cry that Sakura and Cody got in over Gene and Edward Falcon.
Capcom has too many interesting characters across the board to limit character selection to a handful of franchises. There still a lot of major Capcom series that have yet been represented in a VS game like Monster Hunter, and Breath of Fire. Street Fighter ain’t going away any time soon so they can scale back on it.
You bet your ass I will. I’ll still buy the game if there’s no BOF rep, but if they do some shit like you mentioned, I won’t even buy the game. Might buy it on sale just to give it a negative review.
He won’t, he’ll be the normal Thor that’s in the movies, cartoons & promotional material.
How do you guys feel about Huitizil replacing Sentinel? I saw the guys over at Gaf talking about this & love this idea. Sentinel had a great play style, but since I’d rather see a different X-Men related character take his spot while Huitizil has a similar play style.
Honestly I’d expect PTX-40A to replace Sentinel before Huitizil
I like Huitizil or a Cyberbot-mini version or any mecha from Capcom’s beat em ups…
The new characters in MVCI should not be based on curiosity, because that would be a gamble and a waste of slot for those that deserve.
Capcom should pick characters based on diversity, plot, fanbase and design.
There are a lot of Capcom’s characters from their obscure franchise and last generation games that deserve to return.
There are a lot of other fighters that have great designs to be retrieve.
like Powerstone, Cyberbots, Battle Circuits and Warzards.
That’s the category of decision they did when they choose Strider in MVC and Tessa in Pocket Fighters.
Just to be clear, I’d be totally fine if Chun-Li was not in the game. I’d also be fine if she is. Personally I don’t really care as long as we still get another interesting SF character.
My point was just that I can’t see a situation where Capcom doesn’t put her in.
I never liked Huitzil.
Granted, he has great gameplay indeed but I never liked the fat bot design.
Besides, Ultron is in and obviously he can be a worthy sub for Sentinel.
If they want some big robot besides Ultron, a Cyberbots mecha could work as well.
I can see Ultron having drones. That’s Sentinel’s defining trait for me, since I only played 3.
Do you guys see “premium” costumes, with voice work and all? Like Thing for Hulk, Torch for whoever flies and shoots fire, Carnage for Venom, Punisher for Leon/Chris, Magma Dragoon for Akuma.
I thought it would spice up the story mode a bit, but SFV had only 22 characters on story mode, and half were as irrelevant as possible. Maybe it’s not a good idea. But if they do Magma Dragoon for Akuma, I’ll buy it, no questions asked.

Lee Wong versus *Ryuken * from Tiger Road. (Ryuken look like Bison)
Lee Wong would be interesting since his weapon(Kusarigama/Chain-Sickle) is different and not into probably any Marvel Character.
Plus he could Rival Ironfist.

30th year anniversary of Street Fighter. Anybody only expecting two reps will be very disappointed.
Also two rep limit doesnt make sense. Capcom needs people to want to buy the base game before worrying about DLC.
I know there will be more than two SF characters. Personally I wish it was only just two as I don’t think the roster size will be as big being a 2v2 game.
I imagine 5 SF characters.
If I were the one deciding they’d be Ryu, Chun, Hugo, Bison, and Juri. I don’t like Juri but you gotta have a rep from the recent games and she’s better than most of the alternatives. Fuck Rashid, fuck Necalli, fuck Viper, fuck FANG.
I just hope the Street fighter in this would be extraordinary not the one in SF5, but somewhere else the street fighter but in a different universe.
If they would put Bison they should bring instead MVC2 version along with his SFZ3 Final Psycho crusher.
His projectile in MVC2 had an interesting horizontal angle in play
I’m good with Hugo since his not in SFV.
Capcom should be more creative and has more fan service that just exaggerating SF4 and Sf5 character special moves like they did with Viper in MVC3 and Alex in TVC.
I don’t like the idea a character having a skin that turns it into another character.
Outside of Ryu, Chun-Li, and Akuma, the only other characters I can imagine being included is Rashid or Bison. Rashid because of V, and Bison for the villain factor.

I can easily see it being six or more SF characters. Five is a conservative estimate, but just to keep it sane I left it at five.
I don’t like them being too samey. Hugo gives variety to their silhouettes by being so large, and gameplay-wise by being the only grappler of the bunch. Don’t want it to be Gief because he’s sucked absolute ass in every single Marvel game he’s been in, and don’t want it to be Alex because he’s already in SF5 and TVC. Hugo needs a turn.
I don’t imagine Rashid is more popular than Juri, so if he got in over her there would be outrage.
