MvC Infinite CHARACTER Speculation/Request Thread

As far as Darkstalkers reps go, I can see Lord Raptor or Jon Talbain and Pyron replacing Felicia and Hsien-Ko this time in MvCI since they’re so heavily requested.

Commando is released on mobile, but I don’t expect anything from it to be in MVCi,

Capcom is active very much on porting on mobile since the beginning of the year, I think the mobile and ports/remaster would be hints.

Like UMVC3 development period

As far as Power Stone reps go, the only one I can think of getting in is Edward Falcon, also known as Falkner in Japan since he’s the protagonist of the series. But I fear that Frank West will be getting the boot this time in MvCI. :frowning:

Jack’s inclusion comes down to whether the MVC team already had a firm enough idea of him during development. I believe Infinite was said to have been in development since 2015, whereas RE 7 just came out a few months ago. Now it makes sense for the team to have an understanding of Jack since they’re all under the same company, but it’s possible that they weren’t expecting Jack to be as popular as he is–much less as a potential rep in a fighting game.

Back in MVC3, the “newest” characters added were Viper and Rad Spencer. SF4 (2008) and Bionic Commando (2009) were Capcom’s latest games that utilized a rep in a crossover. All of the other characters had been around a good while longer.

The only other time I remember Capcom putting a newish character into a crossover around the same time as their actual debut in their main game was Shadaloo Cammy in X-Men Vs Street Fighter. The console version of Alpha 2 Gold was still in development as X-Men Vs Street Fighter was released, but Shadaloo Cammy was the design for Cammy going forward. The crossover was Shadaloo Cammy’s first appearance before she was utilized in Alpha Gold and later Alpha 3. Cammy was added as a secret character in Alpha Gold, but she had no story or anything. It wasn’t till Alpha Anthology released that she had her own story. That kinda implies she was just thrown in Gold to show everyone that she was the design going forward.

This is another reason why people think we might see a potential DMC5 Dante in Infinite…if DMC5 is *actually *in development like many seem to think.

Unlike Cammy tho, Jack is brand new, so the situation would be much more complicated than that.

Honestly, it could go either way. Resident Evil 2 Remake has been in development for a good while, so I could easily see them choosing reps from that setting.

Hmmmm…what? The character who recently had a game in his series released three months ago, the game Capcom announced new DLC for, one of the few relevant series Capcom is producing new entries for, Frank who’s appeared in two of these games already. He’s sitting this one out? Riiiiiiiiiiiiight.

He is being compared to Nemesis who was far more popular at his height than Jack. I don’t think Jack is anywhere near “that” popular. Nemesis is also again a much stronger stand alone presence where Jack makes little sense outside of the context that Resident Evil VII frames for you.

I highly doubt Jack will be in the game for a dozen reasons most of all is why he would even be in the game. There is no real narrative out the gate that would make sense if they are using the story as a gauge to include characters/ On top of it again what type of game REVII is he just wouldn’t fit at all and I have no idea why anybody that likes the game would want him in Infinite. He would be a complete joke and no it’s not just because of the way he looks its because of who he is in his game cannot be translated at all here. It’s not the same as Phoenix whose always been a comical character in a series that has highly been comical. Same with Frank who comes from an over the top series, and the RE5 characters in MvC3 who are larger than life.

Have you played Ace Attorney? It has humor and comical moments and over the top at times but it’s not a comedy series. Every case is a murder case, poor Mia goes through emotional trauma in every game she’s in, every important character gets put through the ringer in every game’s final case. The series is full of gut punches.

**Nostalgic character I hope to return in Marvel side: **Cyclops, Cable, Thanos and Venom.

Marvel Characters I hope to return from UMVC3: Doom, Wolverine, Magneto, Sentinel and Storm

Marvel Characters from UMVC3 that I won’t bother to not appear: Shoma Gorath, X-23, Moduk, She hulk and Phoenix

I don’t like X23 but she is probably gonna comeback.

Certainly didnt mean to imply the series is just comedy but they throw it at you often along with the tragedy. It works the games are really well written they weave a lot of elements together.

I have played all the mainline games exceot the last two.

Why remove the oddballs like Shuma and Modok? Those two and Sentinel are the Marvel characters I want to return the most, just because of their designs. Add Juggernaut and Venom into the mix and I’m happy.

One thing I’m most interested in learning is if there were special stipulations necessary for characters to be included. Niitsuma said he was *only *given permission to use Dante if Trish was also added, Shuma was only allowed as a DLC character, etc. You know, stuff like that. Everyone is well aware of the Monster Hunter team not wanting their series to be repped in MVC3. I wonder if that’s changed since then. I doubt many Capcom developers would be against their franchise being repped in the VS series.

Since it’s an entirely different team working on the roster, I’d like to see their philosophy on reps in comparison to the MVC3 team. MVC3 prioritized the RE5 reps for that series because it was the latest game. Nemesis got in simply because they wanted a monster, and he happened to be the most popular one. Tyrant was their original idea, but they couldn’t use him in MVC3. DMC3 Dante was chosen because of his ridiculous amount of weapons, which is reflected in his humongous moveset. Viper was included because they wanted the newest SF to have a rep alongside the classic characters.

I have a feeling we’ll see much more classic reps based on the fact that Infinite is Capcom’s gateway to reviving their dormant IPs. Not that this would be hard since Capcom hasn’t had many new series’ since MVC3 was released, anyway. The only one that really stands out is** Asura’s Wrath**. You have Nilin from Remember Me, but I don’t think many people are aware of who she is. The only way I see something like Last Planet being included is if Giants are a thing–or maybe a potential fight during the story.

I would expect the Monster Hunter team to be a bit more lenient now, they’ve done a bunch of goofy crossovers since then.

& I think Frank is one of the few Capcom characters that’s a guarantee. Frank, Chun & Dante. I wouldn’t be mad if Capcom somehow went with Chuck Greene though, as long as Dead Rising gets a rep.

I don’t think we’ll see any RE7 reps. RE7 seems a bit too realistic & its characters are a bit too grounded to fit into MVC. But maybe they’ll surprise us. I’m definitely expecting someone from RE2 though to promote the remake & because it’s a fan favorite game.

Nilin was created by DONTNOD (the same people who did Life is Strange and the upcoming Vampyr), not Capcom, so forget about her even appearing in the game. Also, I doubt the game will ever use giants like in TvC since giants were part of a fake roster leak that was debunked by a user named Ryce, who was the same person who properly leaked MvCI in the first place. :expressionless:

I not saying they should be remove but they are not that would bother me being there or not being there. Not really there designs but I’m expecting groot and howard duck in weird characters to appear than them again.

I like weird type characters too but i want to see new different type of bizzare creatures, just that like.

The case on X-23 and Phoenix was different I feel they are redundant type of characters that other marvel character could switch upon.

I also hope for more bizarre and other worldly creatures in Capcom side not in Marvel.

Felyne, Hauzer, Son-Son(original), Saturn Dyer and Pure-&-fur.

Capcom published the game so the IP would lie with them.

I didn’t know that about Nilin. Cool.

I thought giants were a different, but unique concept to the VS series. I don’t necessarily want them, but I don’t dislike them.

Honestly, I just don’t see any Monster Hunter characters getting in MvCI. I understand that the franchise is popular in Japan but seeing characters such as Felyne just doesn’t make sense as fighting game characters. Also, I won’t even get started on Hauser. :anguished:

I fail to see how they are redundant. Plus Laura has gotten a boost in popularity after the Logan film. So if X-Men are allowed in, either main roster or DLC, i wouldn’t be surprised to see her make it.

Gameplay wise, Phoenix brought something new with Dark Phoenix. How do you guys think she would fare on a 2v2 no assists setting?

That was because they didn’t want a generic Hunter used as a rep. With Monster Hunter Stories out, things could be different this time. Especially since Monster Hunter Stories even has am anime based on the game.
