MvC Infinite CHARACTER Speculation/Request Thread

The way Kamala’s powers work different from Ant-Man’s. Kamala is a polymorph so can she stretch and shift the size of any part of her body she chooses. If she only wants to enlarge the size of her hands she can do so. Ant-Man doesn’t have that freedom. All he can do is grow 60 feet or shrink to the size of an ant. He can’t grow or shrink individual parts of his body like Kamala can and no middle ground for his size shifting.

I don’t think Ant-Man would diminish Kamala’s chances. The Inhumans have been getting a nice push, and I feel like Marvel wouldn’t hesitate to throw her in a crossover to rep that team. Aside from that, I think Capcom would do a great job in making both unique. Ant-Man’s size changing and ants would be a big part of his moveset, while Kamala could take advantage of her stretching and shape-shifting abilities.

So I don’t think you should worry.

Oh, OK. Thanks. She’s one of my favorite Marvel characters. =)

Yeah, Ms. Marvel is cool. I wanna how Capcom would handle her in a game like this.

No he doesn’t have potential. Haggar is implied to be a superhuman mayor with enough stamina to takdo out an entire army of criminals across Metro City, and Phoenix Wright only works because of the sheer absurdity of his character. Baker has no character, he is a hillbilly stereotype and nothing more. He would fit in this game like a square peg in a star shaped hole.

You have to be trolling at this point because I don’t seriously believe anyone would be dumb enough to want Jack Baker in the game. “No one had the chainsaw scissors but him” big deal, anyone can still use them. I wouldn’t be surprised if Chris, Leon or even Nemesis pulled them out. If he’s the only memorable character from RE7 then the best answer is to simply not use any character from RE7.

I’m kind of worried about Felicia’s fate in MvCI. I hope she’s staying in as far as I know it. :s

I could see them finally appeasing the whiners and finally leaving her out for Jon Talban who just doesnt bring anything as unique thanks to Hulk traditionally having a simliar move…But she is really popular so tough call.

I really liked her new tools in MvC3 minus the lack of her splash super.

She’s quite the rising star, I can easily see her getting in. Plus as others have said, her morphing ability gives her a lot of move opportunity. Her bright-eyed optimism and hero worship gives her a TON of potential for fun character quotes and interactions in and out of story mode too.

Yeah, I can definitely see Ms. Marvel making fangirlish interactions to characters such as X and Zero for being Maverick Hunters and a duo, Chun-Li for being the strongest woman in the world, Loki for being Thor’s brother, and Ryu. It’ll be fun to watch. =)

I really don’t want more than two reps from one franchise.
SF: Chun-li or Akuma
Monster Hunter: If they ain’t lazy, they can make a Hunter with his colors being different armor, gender and skin tone. The moveset could be him swithing weapons on the fly like Chris and his guns.
RE: Jack Baker for 7, Leon for 2 Remake. If Wesker makes it, one can be removed.
DMC: Dante and Nero or Vergil.
DS: Morrigan and Talbain
SFV rep: Rashid. Maybe Necalli, since he is the posterboy, and I feel he has more jobbing to do.
Dead Rising: Frank West.
Breth of Fire: BOF6 is mobile too. BOF is such a dead franchise that I don’t see them not going safe with Fou-lu (easiest way to avoid having 2 Ryus) or Nina.
GnG: Firebrand or Arthur (with dash. Or not, just give him time stone)
Meganan: Bass.EXE.

I’m not the one coming up with arbitrary reasons for why a character can’t appear in a game. No, the chainsaw scissors can’t be given to anyone. Who else has those from their source game or comic? The closest would be Frank West but that weapon doesn’t exist in Dead Rising so he won’t have it.

I’m done touching the poop. I’m just gonna finish by saying Jack Baker is not designed to be a series mainstay, he is clearly meant to be a one-off character, everything from his design to his implementation in a horror reboot of the series says that he’s not meant to come back, he doesn’t have an iconic “mascot” design like the rest of the Capcom side. Adding him to the game would date it and cheapen it in the long term because this character will definitely become irrelevant as the years go by.

Chris, Leon, Jill, Wesker and Nemesis far better representatives for RE than a character who likely won’t ever return, since they are recurring mainstays.

It’s a good thing I blocked you two imbeciles since you’re not worth the time and effort arguing to. =P

Everything you said about Jack also applies to Nemesis. He is also a one off character and wasn’t meant for anything beyond his game. He still became an iconic villain for the series and Jack is on his way there for his game. He doesn’t need a mascot design when his popularity is already on that level.

He absolutely does need it. And Nemesis appeared in more than one game as well as in the greater Resident Evil media franchise (such as the movies), so he definitely is a series mascot and wasn’t a one-off character like Jack will be. Jack is a character who is married to a context (an accident in a louisiana home), outside of which he doesn’t work and doesn’t have any purpose.

It’s kinda inevitable for this time around after knowing that there a very few franchise for now that they put on attention from 2016-2017 and even in Japan most of their franchise promotion is for SF. I just hope the would salvage characters that are essential for storylines related to crossovers and parallel universe for Capcom side along with their pop culture known characters from their obscure games and other crossover games.

I just hope Capcom side won’t be too many zombie, sword user and human that used multiple weapons.

I’m more into martial artist, cyborg, androids, mystics, other worldly and weird freaks for a crossover games that has strong robot/virus invasion theme.

That’s not what a mascot is. A mascot is a representative of a brand or series. Nemesis is not that. The other games and movie he appeared are ones that cover the events of Resident Evil 3. He doesn’t show up in the series for anything beyond that. If Capcom releases other RE games that cover the events of RE7 then the Bakers will appear in it.

But they don’t have to be scared of Marvel being retarded and pulling the plug early on the deal. They can release the game with 2 or 3 character tops from one franchise, and leave the rest as DLC. That just to give ONE slot for unrepresented franchises like Dino Crisis, BOF and Power Stone. But how Capcom works, they’ll probably put unrepresented franchises as DLC to gauge interest, since they plan on bringing back old IPs.

Yeah, I can see X, Zero, and Sigma being Mega Man reps, Ryu, Rashid, and Chun-Li being Street Fighter reps, and Leon S. Kennedy and Ada Wong or Albert Wesker being Resident Evil reps for MvCI. It would make sense to balance out the Capcom side of the roster.

They should have think of those in development phase, from the theme itself being related to “stones” and “viruses” they should had established the right Capcom characters from knowing their Character database plots, conflicts and origin.

The scope of MVCi infinite is interesting that involves mystics, cosmic and cybernetics invasion. So Capcom should not be wasting a lot of slot for zombies, sword user and human that used multiple weapons or a human being over the top is a poor choice, because Capcom got a lot of exclusive characters, androids, cyborg, mystics, supernatural, other worldly creatures, dimension travelers and weird freaks that Marvel can also offer.

Agree with Power Stone and BOF is interesting enough to be in the MVCi not because of curiosity of their fanbase but they storywise fitting in those so called conflict. Capcom should even take advantage of nostalgia and other of their flavorful and design wise characters to return, rather than just promotion all the way.

Capcom could also represent Japanese Culture like east meets west and Anime/Manga vs Comicbooks… themes like adding Kaiju and Toku like characters in their side. Capcom 90s-80s are rich in their culture parody not just the latter Viewtiful Joe.
