Leon is the star of four games, and the three canonical CG movies. He can give Chris a run for his money for how often he shows up in the series. I don’t really care about Leon getting his “turn”. He can use a rest.

With the kind of game RE:VII is toned down action more focus on mutilation seems kind of silly to include him in a family friendly game like MvC: Infinite. Baker would simply be a toned down satire of his already borderline satrical-self.
He would be like Deadpool’s fat country bumpkin uncle in MvC; Infinite not sure how he would fit in the story mode either assuming they are using that to make initial roster picks. I am not really seeing the appeal on paper myself. lol
It didn’t hurt Nemesis going into UMvC3. His more grotesque aspects were toned down.
I don’t know who’s so-called ‘leaks’ are more bullshit, Ten_Count_Fall’s or Lupinko’s. They’re both fake as hell. 
I think Frank West and Phoenix Wright proved you can have ordinary-ish guys and still make great characters. Imo their is tons of reference in RE7 to make a solid moveset for Jack Baker out of. He uses a variety of weapons, he grabs you, he throws you, he drives a car into you, he could summon moldeds etc. Thats more than enough to take inspiration from. There are fair points here about why he shouldn’t make it but I just think it makes too much sense when these games are partly made as a promotion for Capcoms latest franchises. And none of the other characters in RE7 stand out enough to fit into MVC.
More to the point, Jack has very little moveset potential and people only want him in for the meme aspect of him. There’s a million better choices from RE than him. In a world of unspeakable horrors with superhuman abilities you choose the redneck who can drive a car as a super? How utterly boring.
Wow he drives a car. So that makes him as much a candidate for inclusion as 99% of the NPCS from any Dead Rising or RE game, I mean, they’re able to drive vehicles too. Driving a car isn’t a special ability. If that’s all you can think of then this guy has absolutely nothing to offer a game like MvC.
I think Leon is pretty much guaranteed but I’m not sure which version they’d use. Hopefully not RE6. Ideally RE4 Sheepskin jacket Leon, but with RE2 Remake in the works it might just be RPD Leon.
Have you played the game? The way he can interact with the car in your first boss fight with him is pretty memorable and stands out. Its not just a normal guy driving a car down the street. Its a setpiece. You could definitely have a super where he hops into the car, and has the ability to do donuts or crash it and set himself on fire or something (think Ghost Rider’s bike super).
Characters like him is fun because he is a blank slate. They can be creative. They can make him a grappler, give him bounces out the ass and stuff like that.
Ghost Rider’s bike is different because it’s a special flaming hell bike that hits the opponent with its flames. Baker’s car is just an ordinary car.
Driving a car is a stupid idea for a super. Driving a flaming hell bike is a great idea for a super.
She-Hulk also uses a car in her level 3, but she doesn’t drive it, she smashes the opponent over the head with it. That’s the difference between a cool character and a chump character, and it’s the special sort of flair that Baker lacks.
If doing donuts in a car is a super then why not just have those convict assholes in a jeep from the first Dead Rising game as a playable character? Or maybe my 16 year old cousin who just got his driver’s license, holy shit, he has the same superpowers as Jack Baker. I didn’t even realize!

You lack imagination. If you actually played RE7 there’s plenty to drawn to make Jack a fighting game character. The car is just one example. He got chainsaw scissors. He should be in for that alone.

Those can be given to anybody. It’s not like he displays any proficient skill with them or anything. You’re not getting the point that the tools don’t make the character.
The only one who lacks imagination is you because you’re the one who wants this boring hillbilly instead of a million other better characters that could take his place.
The point is RE7 was a big success, and if they want a character from that game, it would be Jack Baker, who people really liked.

Dormammu, Phoenix, Hulk, whoever can be welcome’d into the family.

Resident Evil, Ace Attorney, Monster Hunter, and Dead Rising all recently had games so reps from those are a safe bet. In Monster Hunter’s case we will definitely get a stage if we don’t get a character. Mega Man’s cartoon should be released this year so a rep from the classic series may not be out of the question.

Since Ant-Man is pretty much a possibly, I’m afraid Ms. Marvel won’t have a chance to make it into the game unfortunately. That’s a shame because I actually like Ms. Marvel to be honest.
