That’s a pretty solid list. I can’t see Rocket being left out though; I think he’s as safe to return as Spidey, Thor & Hulk.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Groot appeared. Either as a fighter on in one of Rocket’s moves.

Only four new characters? Common.
I’d switch a SF character for a SFV rep, like Rashid. Vergil, Tron and Zero could go too for a never represented franchise, like BOF, Dino Crisis and Power Stone.
I wouldn’t say that. Both X and Zero are best friends and partners therefore I doubt he’ll ever be removed because of that reason. Plus, Tron is very likely to return as well since she’s actually a popular character to begin with. Plus, BOF, Dino Crisis, and Power Stone don’t even belong on a MvC game, especially BOF characters because they’ll feel out of place. 
With the possibility of Sigma, having 4 Megaman characters would be too much. And Tron was on MVC3 because of Megaman Legends 3.

Whatever you say, mister. Sigma, along with Ultron, are strongly hinted to be the main antagonists of MvCI. Plus, BOF characters are very unlikely to appear if anything. So, you’re telling me to remove Tron from my list? Not gonna happen.

Is this a thing? She is literally one of my least favorite characters in the entire MM franchise. Am I the only one who would be excited to see her gone?
It’s a crossover game. No one would be out of place. Breath of Fire being an RPG they have plenty to drawn from to make a good fighting game character. Citing Zero wouldn’t be removed because he’s best friends with X is hilarious. Where is Ken? He’s butt buddies with Ryu and he didn’t appear in MvC3.
Yeah, I think he’ll 100% be in the game as one of those options. He’s really popular right now while being a very “Capcom-y” pick in the vein of Shuma, Spiral, etc…
I wonder if he’s popular in Japan. I figured they’d love him since he’s cute, but maybe he’ll explode when Japan gets to see Baby Groot.

Rocket w/Groot is probably the most likely outcome here. I’d be perfectly fine with this.
