Lucas and Marvel are both owned by Disney. Wouldn’t be too much of a stretch if they really wanted a Star Wars guest character.
If I remember correctly, Marvel made Capcom choose between Sentinel or Juggernaut for the giant character people want, but is irrelevant for Marvel.

Vision didn’t get into UMvC3 because he was too powerful? But isn’t Shuma one of the most powerful entities on Marvel universe? The Hood would be too similar to other gun characters? Dude use guns AND magic. Witch gun character have both?
Also, I agree that Purple Man would be dope. I’m imagining him to play like Hilda from UNIB, standing from afar calling other Marvel characters to attack.
Probably too powerful in the context of balancing his abilities. Then again, Dark Phoenix was a thing. I remember when they said her feathers traveled fullscreen in early development.

I can’t tell you how disappointed I’ll be if they put Star Wars characters in the game. I know this doesn’t really belong here, but I’ve been thinking a lot about Strange (seems like a lock to me) and I think it’d be really cool if they went with a sort of trap/setup style for him instead of straight zoning. Also, I’d like for them to do some sort of redesign to him. He was a truly fun character in 3, but his design (minus his alt) was fucking wack to me.

To be fair, when UMvC3 was being worked on, Marvel was turning Colossus into the Juggernaut.

So can we start talking about sigma? I’m grasping at shit at this stage but I find niitsumas comments on how X is deeply involved im the story, along with that bad guy silhouette being near confirmation of sigma. The guy has been in 8 games. He’s got a fucking buttload of moves for capcom to pick and choose.
If he did end up being playable I’d imagine him being a large body kind of character similar to FANG. Sigma was always tall but not necessarily bulky. We also saw X wear his armor during the cap and morrigan reveal trailer, so perhaps sigma can also change into his other armors? Fuck if I know. Its just real neat to think about.
How the fuck would he be similar to FANG? I hope you don’t mean game play wise because Fang is garbage in that regard.

I think the term went over your head, I wasn’t claiming he was created in the 90’s. It was a phrase, he fits right in with 90’s style Marvel comics and he feels like he would be a shoe in for a game like Marvel Super Heroes.
