See I told you guys that different bodytypes matter to the devs. It has a huge impact on playstyle and they know it. The guy who told me I’m the only one who cares about this is clearly out of his mind.
There have to be giants (Sentinel, Juggernaut, Hulk), midgets (Rocket Raccoon, Viewtiful Joe, Servbot, Roll, Arthur) and weirdos (MODOK, Shuma-Gorath, Amaterasu, Tron Bonne). They can’t all just be regular 5"-6" humanoids. This isn’t Injustice.
Expect to see characters you’d never see coming, like the Pet Avengers.
I agree which is why I think Ant-Man is a lock due to character model as well as gameplay potential.
The Netflix characters honestly have less of a shot if you factor in bodytypes and movesets, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, King Pin, they all offer little to nothing in interesting movesets.
Purple Man IMO could have an interesting mind control moveset, every time I mention him people don’t have enough imagination. All of his moves would involve commanding others to help him for example he could say “Jessica!” and she appears on screen doing an attack. He could have civilians and heroes fight for him but of course hes still a humanoid so…
Storm has such a robust and deep toolset that even a clone of her would have a ton of design space. Nina could just have Storm’s floating and a movelist of good zoning attacks and she’d be a complete character right there. Besides, I think Nina having an immediately obvious playstyle is a plus, not a minus. I mean, the way you’re describing Fou-Lu right now, players wouldn’t really guess on what to expect from him. Nina has resonance. Fou-Lu doesn’t.
-Blade was considered, but too similar to Dante
-Spider-Woman moves seemed too comparable to Trish and Firebrand?
-Psylocke’s voice was lacking???
-Spiral’s six arms were an issue
-Cloak and Dagger were going to be like characters from Jojo’s with assisting and attacking. Ultimately too much work.
-Multiple Man also would’ve been a lot of work
This is just my rough understanding of things. It’ll be more clear when it’s translated.
Rainbow Mika, Gene from Godhand, DareDevil and/or Kingpin, and the Punisher. And we’re good.
Mika already plays like a Marvel character so half of their job is already done there. Hell, she even has a launcher in V. I don’t know how much simpler the copy/paste job could be right there. Edit: I forgot, she even has an air combo now. She’s the most Mahvel Street Fighter character ever and it would be a shame if she wasn’t in Infinite.
Gene could be like Dante but minus the guns.
DareDevil I have no idea how he’d play but Kingpin would be a grappler.
Dang, I didn’t know Doc Ock was so complete. I’m sad that they never even showed footage of what he would look like and his theme. I’d love to see ol’ Bowlcut in Capcom form. @“Doctrine Dark” thanks for the info on those characters, didn’t know so many were considered but cut. Anyone know why Venom and Cyclops were cut? Ages ago I heard that Capcom wanted to use them but Marvel declined – any truth to that?
You’re welcome. I believe Cyclops was one of the characters that Niitsuma’s team didn’t really look into all that much. Venom, Juggernaut, Frost, and Gambit were characters that Niitsuma wanted, but Marvel ultimately declined for one reason or another.
Hopefully the Doctor Octopus technical issues were rectified for Infinite. I’d hate to imagine them discarding all of his assets like that.
You’re assuming a lot. And they’re not going to use a movie actress for a video game, especially not one from a film that wasn’t made by Marvel Studios. They usually go for the characters most recent voice actors, or voice actors in general.
Plus, if the X-Men are, the spots would be very limited. I doubt Psylocke would return.
Purple Man is very unlikely, since he’s not a fighter. In fact, Jessica and Luke beat him easily these days since they’re now immune to his abilities.
Also, there’s no way they’d have Jessica as a move for Killgrave.
Also, Jessica and Luke are far more likely than you think, going by how popular their shows were. Luke more so if the bring back Iron Fist, especially since MvC:I is all about two person teams, so i’m sure Marvel will push for the Heroes for Hire.
I don’t know if you were reading how move sets and variety sometimes decide character seletion but I was giving reasons why Killgrave is a better choice than Jessica or Luke Cage. Sure they are popular but their movesets would be incredibly bland and uninspired they’re just super strength users.
Characters like Hulk, Haggar, She-Hulk pull that stuff off way better anyways.
Anyways differentiating Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist would also be difficult. They’ll probably pick Daredevil and Iron Fist but JJ and Cage will def not be in the game at release.
Killgrave is way more interesting as a character type, he won’t make it but you’re like the 99th person thats said killgrave is a dumb choice. I’m just sayin’ he is better than your typical fighter type and his moveset would be interesting because he doesn’t fight. They’d have to get creative and if you use your imagination you can see how he could call on people to assist him.
It’ be cool they remove assists from the game but give him assist-like move set to differentiate him or something.
Not every character has to be a fighter, would you call Frank West or MODOK a fighter.
DD & Iron Fight probably make it, JJ and Cage won’t I’m calling it. Killgrave would be dope.
