I hated Avengers Arena. I didn’t like the idea of putting all the young characters in a battle royale type story to try and capitalize on the popularity of the Hunger Games. The follow-up Avengers Undercover is just as bad.

Doesn’t really change the fact that Arcade from Arena could work as a fighting character and Murderworld would be a great stage. Not to mention Arcade’s new look is better than his old one.
I disagree with you anyway, Arena was great and it was more Battle Royale than Hunger Games anyway. It’s also not like they denied it, Arcade straight up said he based his idea on Battle Royale and Hunger Games, plus several of the covers were homages to HG, BR, lord of the flies, etc.
And it wasn’t “all the young characters”, there were many that weren’t in the book. And most survived anyway.

Personally I like it, as the long hair screams “Beverly Hills Playboy”. He can’t get more Californian without turning blond lol. Then again, his classic look is no slouch either.

I also believe the DLC polls of MVC3 will play a huge factor in the roster we will see… or atleast i hope so.

Someone should hold a poll on how big the initial roster would or should be.
I think 12 on each side is the lowest they could possibly go but 24 man roster would be small for nowadays.
15 each for a total of 30 would be decent.
16 each is my best guess, thats where I would put money down if I were a betting man for a 32 character launch roster. If they plan on having DLC characters especially if they are X-Men (There are a lot of X-Men characters) then you are subtracting many possible choices from the initial roster.
If someone were to make a poll I think good choices would be
24, 30, 32, 36, 38, 40, 50+
I’d say both Strange and Dormammu have an excellent shit at returning.
Shuma-Gorath is up in the air, but he is a Doctor Strange villain and that could help.

He was high, but k think Strider, X, and PW were the universal top 3 in all polls. Gene, Commando were like top 8 or so… someone shoukd paste a link of the MVC3 polls. Not just the one here but frkm Gfaqs and unity too…
Personally, i think Commando will be in this game. This is the perfect moment for Captain Capcom to return and take on Captain Marvel.

If CapCom gets in, it looks like we all gon’ have to learn to actually use him instead of just using Corridor.
My realistic expectation is around 30-32 over all but i really hope its around 20 plus per side.
There is too many good Marvel Characters to just have 60 (30/30)…
You got the xmen and the avengers, neither of them should be less than 5.
Then you got GOTG, Defenders-netflix, Runaways, Inhumans (not the team), single characters like Punisher and Deadpool, Villains.
We sure as hell ain’t getting that at the start. Maybe by season 3.
