What has you so confident in Winter Solider being in the launch roster? He could easily be a Season 1 DLC character, due to being a New Challenger, or he could just be a Story Mode NPC like Grandmaster Meio is. I’d certainly like two more characters at launch, but I’m not holding my breath for them until I see them revealed. Setting my expectations at 32 for base.
Based on the size and shape of the character select screen, it actually looks like 30 will be the initial roster size. Maximilian’s tweet makes sense given what we know. Prepare for one more trailer featuring Jedah/Firebrand/Dormammu/Ghost Rider before release, along with a dlc trailer for the first 6 (assuming they’re all released at launch)
Edit: now that I think about it, it makes no sense for Venom to be dlc when the first pack is supposed to be “all-new”. It may be possible that Dormammu/Venom is the combo we get, with the Robbie Ghost Rider as dlc. If we were getting Agent Venom or something, I feel they would have named him that in the zip files. Spider-Man’s lvl3 is also inspired by the Raimi movies that classic Venom is featured in.

I never felt that he was because that would a really big mis opportunity on Capcom’s side to introduce something new besides Jedah. Not counting Megman for obvious reasons.
Going by the datamine leak there is no new character besides hunter. so i’m riding with that. 32 at launch. we’ll see in a month or so.
im really excited to see who the last 4 dlc characters will be. wish they gave us silhouettes.

Just because Bucky’s on the .zip leak doesn’t mean we’re getting him in base though. If we were, we’d need another New Challenger from Capcom who hadn’t been on any of the leaks, which I’m not expecting at all, even if it would be nice.
Just give us a Powerstone and a Nostalgia MVC exclusive character
