Darth Vader & Scrooge McDuck would’ve been fun to see. They have long/notable histories with both comics & video games; plus they’re both currently relevant.

Ironically, it was the only fighting game I could confidently proclaim myself proficient in. I liked it, as long as it was going in the same direction.
Was gassed over the reveals though- Frank West is actually looking sick, despite being another reuse- but reoccuring characters weren’t a problem I had anyway.
P1ssed we can only have 2 characters even more now- I’m picking Strange with Cap literally for a beam tag in neutral. Would love to have put Frank with them in this game.

Gamora looks sick! She’s gonna be my first go to character, she looks like a mix between Deadpool and Hayate, and the fact she has a double makes her look even more insane. I’m just waiting for my boy Star Lord, I can’t wait to see what creativity they come up with for him, he’s gonna be the goofball of the game for sure.

There’s only a potential of 10 slots left, what will happen is we’ll get one more 2v2 reveal trailer, the bottom row will be silhouettes for the 6 DLC characters in the Deluxe Edition, and that will be it. There’s still Dormammu, Ghost Rider, Venom and Winter Hunter on the Marvel side, but Capcom are still one man down with only Firebrand, Jedah and Hunter on the leaked list, so there should be at least be one more surprise from Capcom, fucking hopefully it’s Commando.
Edit: Actually that wouldn’t fit. So we’re either getting less characters or more characters than we know about.
With the reveal of the new AIMbrella stage, I can actually see that being a themed DLC pack now. Are there any Marvel characters relevant to A.I.M/M.O.D.O.K?
In the MCU i.e Iron Man 3, Justin Hammer ran A.I.M. Mandarin was the villain they used.
Taskmaster is a notable associate in the comics.
In the cartoons made in correlation with the MCUs direction, M.O.D.O.K was part of the Cabal with the Red Skull, Namor, Hyperion and Dracula.
Notable comic book members of the Cabal include Thanos and Doctor Doom.

We just got Nemesis, Dorm and FB are coming soon, and depending on which version of Venom we get that’s another one. Grandmaster might be story-only, but if he isn’t there’s another one. Then there’s always the possibility Capcom actually surprises us.
The only relevant characters of AIM is whoever is the reigning scientist supreme. MODOK usually takes up this position when he’s around. Baron Von Strucker has been a scientist supreme. In the current comics, Sunspot brought the organization but he’s an X-Men character so he ain’t showing up.
When the game was first announced, we had an official DLC poll. Now that we basically know how the game is going to turn out, maybe we could do another one?
Capcom seems to have paid attention to the MvC3 polls to the best of their abilities, so maybe they’d listen to these for late 2018/2019 DLC?

Yes and no. I think they’re fully aware of what people actually want, but other issues take priority over raw popularity. For example, let’s look at the Resident Evil reps. Wesker is more popular than Nemesis, so he should have been in the launch roster over him, right? It’s a bit less clear cut when you realize that teleports are potentially a system mechanic for any character with the Time Stone, whereas you can’t just pick a specific stone to get armor or reach. While Wesker’s teleports don’t work exactly like those granted by the Time Stone, it does make Wesker’s actual gameplay a bit less meaningful when anyone could do something similar.
So for potential returning characters, it’s important to look at what they do which isn’t covered by an existing character or stone. I still think we’re missing someone to fill Wolverine’s niche, but Black Panther could feasibly cover that. Going back to MvC2, we still don’t really have a character like Cable who puts projectiles on screen to force you into his beam zoning and risk eating an AHVB combo. I think a version of Star Lord that can do that would basically print money by being the best of both worlds, but Capcom doesn’t make choices nearly that well thought out.
I would have to say I would prefer them not to, because there are more than enough characters in both Marvel and Capcom franchises that deserve a spot.
However if there was to be a 3rd party to be represented, I would say some characters from Bayonetta (Bayonetta, Jeanne, Rodin).
It’s very close to Devil May Cry and they would fit very well.
I wouldn’t mind at all. Back when they did those awesome vanilla MvC3 cinematics, they already made Wesker team up with M.O.D.O.K. and that made sense.
Besides I NEED Wesker in this game.
Real talk, at this point it’s just too many goody goody 2 shoes, plus even I have to say the lack of females surprises me.
Maybe, when the full roster is officially revealed.
This is what has me worried in terms of Wesker.
Then again, Wesker is popular enough and has multiple teleports…imagine adding a Timestone next to that… the mind games.
Speaking of DLC packs earlier on this page, here are some of my thoughts on that and which characters will probably showup imo (Assuming characters will come in pairs);
The rumored X-Men vs SF one:
Wolverine / Akuma: Two extremely popular characters, both recyclable from UMvC3.
Basicly free money here.
Magneto/M.Bison: They were already pairing in Xmen vs SF, Magneto is a big time Marvel legacy character and very popular, no to mention a face of the Marvel vs series (plus UMvC3 recycle stuff)
Bison could be revamped,making a mix of his VS/SF4/SF5 incarnations (Psycho Inferno, Psycho Punisher would be great additions
A.I.M.brella:
Wesker / M.O.D.O.K.: to bolster the villains in the game and once again resources that can be taken from UMvC3 (knowing Capcom lol).
Additionally the Resident Evil name sells.
Spy vs Spy:
Black Widow / C.Viper: To give the game more female reps. Viper is just recources recycled.
BW on the other hand is very prominent in the MCU universe and a popular character.
She could take ques from Jill’s UMvC3 moveset.
This list is actually fairly realistic, we all know Capcom will blatantly recycle UMvC3 resources and only throw in entire new characters from time to time.

Honestly if there was a need for a modern day representation of SF I prefer SFV icon than Viper like Kolin, Nash and Necali but if there is from SF4 it should have been Juri now.
