MvC Infinite CHARACTER Speculation/Request Thread

just5 has a very imaginative mind. He loves the lore and speculation.

Because people already assumed Haggar is in. but probably he is because of Capcom’s recent practices.

I mained Haggar but his return is meh on this if his really coming back.

Haggar > Gief anytime but

Mecha Gief with new robotic moves( like Robo Ky) > Haggar

Astaroth > Nemesis
Hauzer > Nemesis

Regular Gief and Regular Akuma is boring. Versus series should always make exclusive SF character and not just straight on porting them in the game because of the gameplay environment. Retooling them base on the game story theme and plot is a better plausible direction.

Capcom’s needs to be resources and try to reference their previous source material because they got a lot of interesting designs and concepts. While the new stuff they usually brings are uninspiring and all hype. Phobos and Sentinel was really interesting concepts back in the days.

What I mean of resourceful is recycling great ideas and not assets.

There are so many waste potential, possibilities and interesting twist on characters using this theme of Ultron and sigma.

You know what, people complain about Nemesis, Arthur and Firebrand but they’re the most oddball characters on the capcom side. I respect their inclusion.

He may or may not be in the launch roster; it’s the main reason I’m leaving Haggar, Frank West, Ghost Rider, Dormammu, Death, Winter Soldier, Venom, and Grandmaster out of all lists at the moment.

People remember my idle thoughts? How touching. I did a whole thing like this for SFV too; I tend to think a step beyond wishlists and consider the actual implementation of things into the games I’m interested in. It’s a nice creative outlet for when I have too much thinking time and too few ways to make it productive.

This is exactly what I mean when I say Capcpom doesn’t have it anymore.

This level of creativity, fun, and whimsy is completely gone from the company now.

Yeah Capcom just goes on stuff that just make you “think”, “assume” or “hope” making thing promising but everything ends up meh and uninspiring, its like cheating in a way.

There is only one man who can save the MVC franchise at this point

Would a redesigned Fallen Vega (Cannon Spike) work as well for Marvel?

I don’t think Cannon Spike will ever appear in any capacity again. It was an ambitious idea for sure, but creating second versions of Vega and Arthur plus throwing Street Fighter, Ghosts 'N Goblins, and Darkstalkers into a separate canon is just confusing.

Alright. On second thought, it might be a bit too much for a Marvel game as it is. Admittedly, I did want regular Vega in one of those games for a while (along with the other Shadaloo Kings), but I was told that would be pointless because of Wolverine and X-23.

Doramamu return is just but they should have him against Astaroth as a representation underworld or Jedah as representation of dimension. IMHO

I always like to see Felyne the Monster Hunter Mascot to be paired with Rocket Racoon seems interesting the Space Racoon vs Medieval Cat

Fuck them cats.

Where’s my Nemesis reveal so I can piss off all the Wesker fans with my irrelevant RE rep?

I’ve been determined to not get my hopes up over anything unofficial.
BUT DAAAAAAAAAAAYUM. That is some amazing art with two of my favorite characters from UMvC3. Hype levels rising.

Mega Man Galaxy DLC pack (Mega Man x Guardians of the Galaxy)

Spoiler

This was actually a really interesting one to think about, but for different reasons on each side. There’s a ton of potential Mega Man characters that people might want in a MvC game, but only 3 MCU Guardians characters worth mentioning. However, I had a much easier time visualizing how the Mega Man characters would play than the GotG guys. I know a lot of people would be upset at MORE of these franchises being included because the launch roster is already so saturated, but I think after a few seasons and X-Men/Doom are added the community would have an easier time accepting it. Without further ado…

CAPCOM
[] Tron Bonne: C’mon, you know if this happens she will be added. Not only was she in MvC3, but she’s a nostalgia pick because of MvC2. Main thing I see happening for this game is Servbot-based assist moves like what Ultron has. Shouldn’t be hard.
[
] Roll: Another character that gets in as a nod to the older games, but should absolutely be based off of her not-ass TvC incarnation. She uses a broom as a staff; would be more unique than a lot of the potential Mega Man characters. Also, she makes both this pack and the game as a whole less of a sausage fest.

Bass: Probably the pick that people would like the least, but I’ll explain below why the other obvious choices aren’t as good. Compared to X and Zero, Bass can have a rapid-fire cannon that works like Deadpool’s guns, plus some arcing patterns that resemble Shuma’s Mystic Ray. Maybe throw in some classic Mega Man weapons that the others didn’t get.
Mega Man characters that are less likely
[] Protoman: I can see why he’s requested, but the launch roster already includes Arthur, another small guy with a shield that shoots projectiles. Capcom could differentiate the two, but then you get into his costume being really similar to Viewtiful Joe’s (in the context of a fast-paced fighting game), and I think Joe has a better chance of getting in.
[
] Vile: Another really good character, I had a whole thing like Aigis’ ammo counter from P4A in mind for Vile. Thing is, the 3 Mega Man reps already in are MMX characters; this pack would be better if it broke away from the X-centric base roster and showcased other parts of the franchise. If that doesn’t bother you, just replace Bass with Vile.

Doctor Wily: To be honest, Wily’s problem isn’t that he’d be too hard to implement, as this is a MvC game. For Wily, the issue is giving him an identity another character doesn’t already have. Want to give him a mech? Tron covers that. Want to make him air-based? Just add MODOK. I just don’t see a design space for him.
MARVEL
[] Star-Lord: Obvious pick is obvious. Seriously, how the fuck did Star-Lord not make the base roster? Probably because they only wanted 2 GotG characters and Gamora would bring the female count up to 4 (LOL). Anyway, I see Star-Lord being an Iron Man/Cable hybrid. He’d have some of the former’s mobility with the latter’s projectile hell moves. Would love to see how Capcom handles his gun.
[
] Drax the Destroyer: In doing the research for this, I found a small problem. There’s basically 2 versions of Drax: the badass original version and the MCU meathead. In his original debut (alongside Thanos btw), he had energy projection and flight. The modern version is a lot more limited, unfortunately. I’d really like classic Drax to be in the game (GREEN MAGNETO BOYZ), but even if Marvel gave Capcom the creative freedom to decide the roster I don’t see them allowing any version other than the MCU one in game. Maybe we get the old Drax as an alt, but purple cape aside the real fun of a MvCI Drax would be having the sort of mobility and projectiles you’d expect from a Marvel game. MCU Drax would probably be a sort of brawler/grappler type ala Haggar, which sucks even more if Haggar is in the base roster.

Ronan the Accuser: Ronan actually has cool powers (and a hammer), so there’s a lot of potential for a MvC game. His armor and weapon combined give him the move list freedom of Iron Man, if not more so because he makes more sense as a melee combatant. He probably wouldn’t have anything more than a 2 way air dash in the mobility department, but some of his more out-there options include invisibility, teleportation, and illusions.
Story: Ronan was sent by Thanos (or some other villain) to steal the Robot Master blueprints so that an army of them may be set loose on the universe. Cue X, Zero, and the Guardians trying to stop him, encountering Bass and Roll from the classic universe along the way. Tron, seeing an opportunity to steal the blueprints for herself and create augmented servbots, also interferes.

I hope Felyne makes it into Marvel just because he will make Amingo look menacing. He doesn’t even look like he wants to fight anyone.

I see no problem having exclusive character version in a different parallel dimension and in separate universe or in a crossover franchise we have seen it in many games and especially in many Capcom fighting games in the past and it doesn’t confuse because in this day and age people and even children are aware that there is no such thing as a continuous canon in many crossover and all star games. it’s like everything is justified after they reach out the wiki pages or they are aware that it’s just a crossover game like a crossover cartoon.

We even got Sigma x Ultron in the game.

So having MU/Hado Kakusei Ryu, Cyber Akuma, Fallen/Revenger Vega/Claw, Cyborg Nash, Mech Zangief and etc won’t be confusing as long they had a little bit of origin or back story in their wiki or ending. It’s the first time like I used to imagine Evil Ryu and Mech Gief before.

I’d rather have Jessica Jones over Kingpin. She could play similar to She-Hulk but with some flight shenanigans.

I’ve been thinking about it lately & Blade could be really fun.

I’m not a Tekken player, but Raven was one of my favorite things about SFxT; I loved his move set and he reminds me of Blade. Maybe Blade could be based off of Raven but with some sword normals.

Plus Kingpin prefers not to get his hands dirty. It would make more sense for one of his assassins to be playable, like Bullseye or Typhoid Mary.

That said, if Kingpin is to be playable, you can’t forget about his cane.

Blade is basically Marvel’s Dante.

He could have attacks where he saps the opponent’s health by drinking their blood, or give him a super where he “kills the lights”. This makes everything on-screen pitch black, EXCEPT for the opponent. So they have no idea where Blade is on the screen but he can see them just fine.

Sadly this would require Capcom to show some imagination and backbone and they clearly don’t have that ability anymore. Basically wishing for anything at this point is wishing for disappointment.

Blade would be cool if he were announced for UMVC3 by the UMVC3 team, but being announced for MVCI means he’s going to be shit.
