True, but Kingpin is a more than capable combatant. The “prefers to use underlings” thing isn’t a big deal in a series known for Magneto/Doom being playable. I did forget to mention the cane though…
I hope they get more of Marvels obscure ass characters. I have a feeling that if ultimate should survive (and it might survive it’s inital release reception Disney probably sees it as cheap advertising and may support it as such) we’ll eventually see some of those non MVCU picks sneak in. Game seriously needs more villains.
Agreed on needing more villains. That’s one of my disappointments about this. I was hoping we’d see more of Spidey and some obscure picks for the rogues.
If they bother with Xmen eventually I always thought it would be cool to throw in Mojo. He would fit the whole weirdo character thing and probably have a really stupid (in a good way) playstyle like MODOK.
I don’t know enough about non Xmen characters, but I always thought Mandarin or Carnage would be cool villians. People always bring up reasons why they wouldn’t allow Carnage, but maybe this is the time. Electro or Baron Mordo would be fun too.
Felyne(MH) to Rocket Racoon
Gene/Asura to Thor
Asura/Gene to Hulk
Astaroth to Doramamu
Mech Zangief to Asgard Destroyer
Tessa(WZ/RE) to Dr Strange
Cyborg Nash to Vision
Ruby Heart to Starlord
If the rumor mill is to be believed, Marvel got a lot of say in the launch/Season 1 roster but Capcom will get their freedom back after that. Presumably that’s when we get Wolverine, Magneto, and Doom back.

[] Amaterasu: GIVE ME BACK MY DAMN DOGGO CAPCOM. Not sure how much her move set could really be changed since they did a damn good job of showing off her capabilities from Okami. Maybe some kind of ink mechanic like Chris’s ammo, but refills automatically? This would go for Power Slash and any brush technique specials they give her.
[] Asura: He actually makes a lot of sense here, given his game of origin. The playstyle would probably be over-the-top brawling, complete with a 6-arm Berserker Barrage hyper. Just let him punch people into the moon as a level 3 and we’re golden.
[*] Yami: He already had a sort of appearance in TvC as a boss, and I think he could join the regular roster with a small scaling down to Sentinel’s size. He would have 2 stances: Humanoid stance (w/ arms and legs) and Ball stance. His attacks include reforming body parts into tentacles, hammers, and giant hands, and he has access to giant beams and missile barrages. He’d be like Sentinel on crack, which can only end well.

[] Loki: Why has this character not been in a MvC game yet? Then again, we didn’t get a playable Thor until 3, so that’s probably why. He’s basically Strange/Dormammu with a sword. His whole agenda revolves around trickery, so Loki would likely be a high-mobility zoner with odd projectiles and teleports.
[] Sif: Kind of a strange pick, but I think the idea of a finesse-based Asgardian warrior woman would be pretty cool. You have teleports and shit, so she might be a bit like Vergil.
[*] Destroyer: Giant Magical Killbot anyone? On top of being a humanoid laser-tank, its massive durability lends itself to armor/autoguard attacks. No drones though.
Story: Loki, taking advantage of the chaos, strikes a bargain with Yami to conquer both universes. Sensing Yami’s return, Amaterasu recruits Asura, Thor/Sif, and other heroes to help thwart the plot.[/details]

[] Phoenix Wright: I think Wright would probably fit better in Infinite than he does in 3. Something I think would help turn Wright into a more usable character is outright removing his bad evidence pickups. He’s already stuck with RNG to determine what projectiles he can use in his other modes, don’t punish the guy even more. To compensate, item pickups will be less safe than before, so you would need to frequently tag Wright in and out of combat while setting him up.
[] Viewtiful Joe: Joe doesn’t need a whole lot of changes to work in Infinite; hell, with his animations Capcom would barely have to create any more normals for him. I’d like to see his VFX abilities better represented in his special moves, as it felt kind of glossed over in 3 except for his slow super, which you could ignore anyway and still play the character well.
[*] Gene: I’m getting a Dante/Iron Fist hybrid vibe from him. Long move lists, long combos, and long animations for tagging in/out. Definitely a rushdown character, but trades off on mobility for raw damage.
I also thought about Captain Commando, and to be real you could replace any of the above characters with him. Not sure who deserves the ax for it, though.

[] Daredevil: Daredevil has been requested for ages now, and for good reason. Not only is he a top notch martial artist, but his blindsense allows for more personality in is moves than “hits the thing”. He can have counter/dodge moves that take advantage of his reflexes. Would definitely be on the fast side, comparable to Spider Man.
[] Elektra: Since we aren’t getting Psylocke ever (RIP blue melons), Elektra is our next best option for ninja girls. Moves would be pretty standard ninja fare, as Elektra doesn’t have any really outlandish traits beyond her skill.
[*] Moon Knight: At first glance, Moon Knight looks like a discount Taskmaster, who himself is a discount everyone. While Moon Knight may not be able to fly and shoot lasers, his split personalities could make for a cool stance system. While Amaterasu also had stances, I picture MK being like Gen from Street Fighter in that his entire move list changes with his stance, right down to the normals. Given the versatility of his arsenal, you could give him stance weapons such as staffs or swords.
Two marvel characters that had potential but face glaring problems that would make them hard to add: Jessica Jones and Bullseye. JJ’s powers are basically a shitty Captain Marvel without projectiles. That could be overlooked for someone like Daredevil or Moon Knight, who have such strong personalities that their moves can be unique without having to use special powers. But JJ doesn’t really have that going for her either; she doesn’t have any special traits to base a move list around. Bullseye is just a shitty Hawkeye with Deadpool’s “I’m crazy” gimmick but nowhere near as established.
Story: Heroes clash in the underworld of Hell’s Kitchen! Meanwhile, lawyer Matthew Murdock faces his toughest criminal case yet: a suspect represented by none other than Phoenix Wright.[/details]
I don’t understand why are you guys still trying to make wishlists and such when we already know the starting roster and part of DLC wave 1, with DLC wave 2 consisting 100% of MCU characters from the 2018 marvel movies
Care to enlighten us on the wave 2? I don’t think I ever saw a trustable leaker mentioning season 2.
Unless you’re using common sense, and that’s understandable.
I’m looking a bit further into the future. Season 1 will be completed by the end of the year, so that’s only about 3 months of content. Season 1 is all new but based off the story mode from what we’ve heard. Other rumors have Capcom getting a lot more freedom with the roster after S1, meaning we might not have to deal with MCU saturation for very long.
