As for big bodies, don’t forget about Astaroth, of Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins. He was one of the few S Ranks in the Heroes and Heralds mode, if I recall correctly.
Yeah it’s possible we won’t get an MH rep at all. I’m just saying if we do, it should be a monster.
We don’t know if the MH team has changed their tune. Maybe they’ll be more open to it this time around.
Current Monster Hunter games has cross overed with other Capcom series, Nintendo games and a couple of animes. The attitude toward crossovers definitely changed. Give me a playable monster please.

Whatever size Astaroth is fine with me but no smaller than sentinel, His new, nostalgic and iconic at the same time. If were losing dormammu that certainly fine for him to rival Ghost Rider.

I’d be down for something like Rajang, a (TRIGGER WARNING) generic hunter who utilizes a bunch of weapons and styles (they got a lot more than just swords, and dont forget the items they can use like bomb barrels) or a Felyne. Anything MonHun would be awesome, I’m sure.
Astaroth’s design is really cool, but what would be his moveset?
I tried swapping his model with Dormammu, but he is bigger than it looks.
It’s also why the Monster Hunter devs didn’t allow a MH rep for MvC3. They didn’t want a generic Hunter as a fighter.
Maybe, after all they even have an anime now.
The UMVC3 model doesn’t matter for MVCi, because his body proportion had different interpretation in crossovers and even the GnG universe so a slight smaller version with the same size of sentinel would work for MVCi.
Project X Zone and the 1st GnG has a smaller version of him than the UMVC3.

Actually, the MH team didn’t want a face to represent the franchise. That’s why I’m saying they could make each color be a different armor, gender and skin color. But knowing capcom, it’s too much work.
Given the ridiculous array of weapons/armour/etc. in Monster Hunter there’s no way a nameless ‘Hunter’ character would please anybody. That said, I’m all for it if it means they’re accompanied by one of the series’ iconic baddies. Or go left-field and throw in Hauzer.
Hauser is the best monster Capcom had in 2d fighters his a rex and a triceratops, His in the right size and be the mini Godzilla parody of the game.
if hauzer is in and they use the mvc2 layout, rip his sLP. IIRC, it’s just him flinging his trex arms like a girl
They probably add new normals or adjust and re-assign some normals to differnt buttons that the previos.

But seriously the VS games have always been about variation.
Just look at UMvC3 alone, next the fair share of humanoids, we have Nemesis, Sentinel, Ammy, MODOK etc.
That’s what makes it more fun imho.
As far as Monster Hunter reps are concerned, it’s very likely that we’ll be getting Monster Hunter (Hero) in the game.
