Yeah, why both Leon AND Ada? How would they be different? They’re both gun users with no special powers beyond that.
All these MCU tertiaries can get fucked too. Black Widow, Vision, Winter Soldier and Scarlet Witch? Get that shit out of here, we don’t need it. Bring in more characters from the old games over those.
I’m with you, but I gotta point that it’s not about what we need, it’s about what Marvel needs, sadly. Black Widow can take Jill’s moveset, so if they make that connection, less work for them.
Vision would be cool though. He has some cool powers in the comics. Even if they fill the roster with MCU characters, they will go for their comics powers. Dormammu for example is just a giant head in the movies. The Marvel roster could be fun gameplay wise, but so fucking lame and disappointing if they fill it with MCU characters.
Bucky, Scarlet Witch and Vision would make for great additions. Marvel’s mystic is often under represented and she’ll be great for that. Bucky is my boy. Put him in anything and I’ll be there.
I hate the term “MCU characters”. Outside of the Guardians, the MCU uses all classic characters; but people treat them different since all they read as kids was X-Men.
They treat them differently because they likely didn’t know about them until the movies and TV shows used them. Some people here clearly only know the 90s when it comes to Marvel.
I treat them differently because there aren’t many MCU characters that I like, and choosing characters based solely on MCU appearances will make for a very uninteresting roster.
I’m willing to guess that video games make up a pretty small amount of Marvel’s brand recognition.
Aside from some basic guidelines/recommendations from Marvel, Capcom can probably use whichever damn characters they want, including any version of those characters.
That’s not how Capcom described their relationship with Marvel when they developed MvC3. They needed Marvel’s approval for anything they did with their characters. Marvel was anal over how Strange was presented in the game. Capcom had to fight to get Sentinel and Shuma in the game.
Even so Marvel won’t gave Capcom free reign. Marvel has become protective of their brand since the MCU hit it big and been collaborative partners with companies who license their characters. Not like DC who let NRS do whatever they want with Injustice.
Yes, and there are thousands of us. We didn’t get american comics in South America when I was a kid so the only way I knew marvel was from the tv shows and then the internet, once that came along. I didn’t know or care who thor was until I was about 14(and I still don’t care).
To me, captain America and ironman/warmachine are more fighting game characters than comic book characters because of mvc.
Winter Soldier also isn’t classic, but really the only character that should be called ‘MCU’ is Coulson.
Its always been weird to me how people care so much about the X-Men cartoon, because here I only remember it being shown for a very short period of time, and then getting replaced with the classic Spidey cartoon. I didn’t know for ages that people cared so much about, e.g. Gambit, over Spidey villains, because they were who I grew up with.
I don’t know, Vision and Scarlet Witch could have very interesting moveset. Specifically because of their powers.

Plus by they way they describedit back in December, it sounds like the Marvel guys are more involved this time.
