MvC 3 Netcode

Unfortunately, the download-able content seems to be selling really well, if people refrained it could of hit Capcom hard. However, most gamers will eat anything out of the suppliers hand when opened, then retreat back and start bitching again. Only way to make companies realize what the fucks goin on is to get to their wallets. I’m not buying anything more from Crapcom until they make the necessary changes to online, at the VERY LEAST, a spectator mode.

I obviously know that download-able characters are a totally different topic then shitty netcode, but how else are you going to make them listen ?. If the actual community said " Look Capcom, we are not giving you any money, for any of your characters, until you fix such and such " I really think they would pay attention. Someone is watching the sales, and is watching how well the download content is bought, and if the numbers suck, they are gonna ask why.

the only statement that could’ve been made is if those who bought the CE also didn’t get the characters out of morality. Unfortunately, in order to know the characters you’re facing, you have to play them yourselves. It’s not that easy to just turn around and say hell no on this front.

just spent 30 mins watching the ‘shuma madness!’ stream. I think some of the people crying in this thread should check it out too.
The guy gets back to back games with fight request, with flawless connections over and over… no lag.

And its the same experience that i get online. When i play with any of my friends in the same country, its flawless, feels just like offline.
And fight request training mode gets me a ranked opponent within 60 seconds every time.
Only one in 10 or 15 of those ranked match opponents i get have a touch of lag, and its barely noticeable.

Yes, i know what input lag feels like, yes i have spent years playing FGs offline.
I have had hundreds of great MvC matches online with no lag whatsoever.

All the bitching and moaning in this thread, seems people don’t realize that having a shitty connection doesn’t mean the game has bad netcode.

lol^^^^^ lots of exp with that 09 acct?

my bad.

where the fuck is windsagio\kalyx triad now lol!!! those 2 people in particular would say I was full of logical fallicies and there was no way to know whether or not the net code would be good. Don’t see those guys opening their mouths now about the net play.

Well you do know Windy’s a mod now right? Which is ironic because I think he abandoned the MvC3 board when the game dropped.

yea I saw that and I shit my pants lol

i’d rather have chindogg back as a mod than that guy. @ least chindogg knows how to play

Meh, knowing how to play should not be the basis around being a mod honestly.

Don’t remember me *or *Windy promising good net play. I admit my memory is hazy on the subject, citation would be helpful.

uhhh

No lag is not something you can observe by watching dude play on a stream. If input delay is there you probably aren’t going to know it unless you see the dude press buttons and have stuff not come out.

Just been wondering. Is offline on a laggy TV (say 2-3frames) still better than online, or are the two comparable?
Thinking about whether one evil is better than the other. My food for thought.

I would say that they are comparable, they both result in you seeing something coming later than it actually happened and cause the effect of your button presses on screen to be delayed. However, the magnitude and consistency of the delay is going to be vastly different.

In your 2-3 frame TV lag example, you’re talking about a 50 millisecond delay (1000ms/60fps * 3 frames). A good ping over the internet is probably about 100ms or less so you’re probably talking about double the delay already. And your TV is hopefully going to give a fairly consistent delay whereas lag spikes and variable conditions can mean you’re seeing a huge amount of delay on top again with no warning that it’s going to happen.

Yeah, with a TV, at the very least you can adjust accordingly and the delay will be consistent.

Anemone was probably the worst.

I’ve played close to 900 matches on xbl since release and I can say that maybe 30 of those matches have had considerable lag involved, the majority are either very good to good.

My favorites were everyone who took the Network Simulation training feature to be a positive sign.

That was seriously like. " A’DOY"

I am gonna go look for anemones old posts, as well as the posts regarding online. Just for the lulz factor of them being completely and utterly wrong becuase nearly ALL of our predictions all online and Capcom being shady was spot on.

Yeah, I mean seriously, when I said that Lag Simulation confirmed shitty netcode, everyone jumped on me. I mean, damn, I don’t mind getting yelled at if I’m wrong, but I swear a lot of people jump down my throat these days just to do it.

lol Anemone:

"Better question: does Ponder know more about this game than the developers do? Yall keep sucking all these dicks and putting unrequited faith where you want, but then not giving equal trust to the MvC3 team. Trust the people who make DBZ (lol) but not the Marvel team for no apparent reason.

Oh wait that’s right, you do have a reason tto trust one development team pre-release but not another, because it backs up your argument, and that’s all you internet bitches care about."

I live in NY and online is still a big thing for me. I love street fighter and fighting games in general but I don’t really want to spend my spare time traveling around to meet up and play with other players. I like to be able to sit down at home and just jump on to play a few matches. I have a bunch of other shit in life that I like doing including other games besides sf so it would be nice if I had easy access to some competition through good online play like ggpo.
