^Just no.
Anyhow thanks for answering my Q about laggy TVs vs online laggy connections.
So playing on my friend’s laggy TV instead of playing him online through my lagless CRT is the way forward.
he is the worst in any topic
the fact that wind got a mod status is a sing of the end of the times and that srk is becoming a joke
the fact that the netcode strugles when i play with people that in other games i play great is just a proof of how garbagestic it is
to be fair, mods just moderate. You don’t actually need to know how to play but it helps. If you have a dumbass who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, someone like preppy would tell them to STFU where as windy would probably let it ride because they’re entitled to their opinion. What that eventually leads to is dumbass after dumbass posting dumbass shit.
Moderators should also be able to play that way the boards are filled with more useful information and less democracy. Preppy IMO does an excellent job moderating. He cuts out half the dumb shit scrubs post up and the more experienced players are allowed to have a voice.
I remember anemone arguing with me when I said this game is rushed after having it 2 weeks early… I even said the netcode was ass playing people local to me… this game is so bare bones its a joke however I will continue to play it as my main game even with its flaws
Meh, alright, we should probably cut out the mod talk and crap. What’s done is done. Besides, that job sucks. If anything, it’s a punishment to Windy to have to take it in THIS board than anything.
But we should find SOMEONE to write an article on the state of netcode for fighting games.
Also, I saw some of your games when I was on GGPO, your Q-Bee is pretty nice. I’m still ass at VS though. Doesn’t help that I can’t connect to a game in GGPO to save my life.
Ugh I’m done with this game soon. The Rift MMO and impending Starcraft 2 ladder reset has me going back to my roots. Just trying to sell the two copies of MvC3 I won in tournaments (which is hard cuz no one is even buying this shit game anymore) then I’m shelfing this MUTHAFOCKA. I have a scene here in Cali, it’s godlike, but online play is just too essential for me. Call me lazy or whatever, but if I can jump on battle.net and play some 1v1s with niggas from Korea and China LAG FREE, then Im gonna do that. I dont want to be driving 2 hours to San Diego just to play some lagless marvel.
Why the hell do fighting gamers have to jump through so many hoops just to have a decent experience? I’m tired of paying Capcom 60 bucks for some shit quality game every year. FUCK CAPCOM.
I’ve had a lobby open for 5 houres now, with region set to ‘same’ (which include scandinavia and some parts of EU). Not a single player has joined. Yesterday I searched for a loby the whole day. Found nothing. Ranked doesn’t work. Gawd I love this game! … What a joke.
i tried playin this online again yesterday and it was positively the worst netcode still
I feel your pain, sweden here… shit is embarassing…
Putting my faith in 3s:OE and Skullgirls, until then I just wait.
100% agree. Online when done properly is an incredible training tool. For me a great net code is irreplaceable, it matters that much.
For some reason, the PC industry has been using latency hiding techniques since 99-00. I remember counter strike 1.6 being really good back then on cable connections. Yea yea, you have the whole seth answer. OOOOO EVEN FPS GAMES HAVE PROBLEMS!!! yea but what he doesn’t understand those problems are a huge welcome given our current situation.
I’d rather input a clean shoryuken and maybe 20% of the time, it gets dropped than to deal with this horrible input delay that allows none of my training to actually mean shit.
Funny, I’ve been having a similar experience (minus the lobby creating).
Every time I go to Player Match (I don’t play Ranked), I get a really laggy match (even with the region set to Same and on a wired connection); makes it impossible to do anything with Magneto or anyone that relies on something other than ABCD->ABCD->etc.
If I search for a lobby set to Same Region, I get almost nothing. If I search for a lobby set to Any Region, it will most likely be international players (which wouldn’t be too bad, but since Capcom doesn’t design netcodes with international play in mind, it just results in lag).
Overall, I think that the online portion of this game is already dying off. I may be wrong, but this is from my experiences. Shame, too, because the game is actually fun and diverse otherwise.
Sick of having to do Supers so damn slow, otherwise the game see’s it as a dash. This is all the damn time for Ammy and Hulk. Or even when I attempt to actually dash, then Super with Hulk to do Gamma Wave, I get the Gamma Rocks instead. Fucking brutal online input lag. So damn laggy the other day in ranked I went against an Akuma that just did hurricane kicks, and I couldn’t properly punish. You can just push back which doesn’t work all the time online, so Im either A) Getting hit or B) Pushing back at the start or middle of his kicks so the remaining ones still cover enough ground to hit you. Fuckin Capcom man, there should be a video game law that says games needs to meet a certain online requirement of criteria on a scale of so many Mb’s connections.
Regarding 3s, you might aswell try 3s on GGPO, best netcode around, big lobby usually full of people, spectating, everything Capcom currently doesn’t do on their main line fighters.
I thought I had some really bad lag problems and then I realized my controller was set to alpha instead of beta. Wow.
Some dudes on my friends list and I decided to do test our execution online and let each other practice combos just for kicks. Anything other than basic combos was near-impossible for us. During actual matches, it was awful. I haven’t had a good connection yet. If you’re playing online, just use a character that has easy combos for good damage. Otherwise, chances are you’re not going to get anywhere unless you’re fortunate.
its impossible to block online bc theres literally an hour of input delay when you press anything
Honestly, fighters online are overall terrible. It doesnt help that every developer with a fighter out there puts out a terrible netcode.
(capcom, SNK, Namco.)
Blazblue was the only acceptable Netcode fighting wise. But I don’t like the game enough for it t matter to me.
edit: Shit, MK9 might be the only Shot for people who rely on Online since they either don’t have local scenes or they’re just too far away to be worth the drive. Maybe Ed boon can show everyone how to do a good netcode for a fighter. Or just be shit like everyother fighter.
yea its really weird that every developer is so remarkably incompetent. wait. it isnt.
i have the same experience with the lobbies. i cant find any for my region (eu) nor does anyone join mine.
Playing Viper online is not fun. :shake:
