What is your internet upload and download speed if I may ask?
What’s yours?
Collecting this kind of data can tell us a lot about what people should expect online.

Speed has little to do with it. The average online game sends and receives a total of 20MB an hour. As long as you aren’t rolling on 56k you have more than enough speed to play on xbox live.
What does matter is this.
There are still people with 2mb/500kb connections. Would that make a difference?
They need to make the arcade version for this. Why hasn’t it been confirmed?
500kbps is roughly ~60KB/s. That is still at least seven times more than sufficient.

i play mvc2 flawlessly all the time. the netcode for mvc3 is just bad. thats all there is to it
For the record, I’m on 30mbit down and 25mbit up connection. My matches have been good 95% of the time before and after release.
Nick, are you on PS3?

Also Supra do you have a T1 connection?
yes.
doesn’t the 32 ms Jitter mean your Ping isn’t exactly 67 ms everytime but varies by 32 ms…which means up to 99 ms ping at times?
Not only that, but doesn’t 67ms ping means your connection/ISP sucks?
Don’t blame the netcode when you have such a poor connection. What do you want the game to do? Guess the inputs?
Seriously, if you’re pinging continually above 40ms, do not complain. If you are running wirelessly, don’t even phantom of complaining.
I’ve never seen a single MvC2 match under 85, ever and pinging to random sites usually shows 25ms - 45ms, so it isn’t just client side problems when you get higher ping. I’m getting 36ms to this site.
Even if the netcode was crappy you would still be able to ping as fast as normal I think.
Someone might correct me on this.
It depends on whether or not you have ADSL, and whether or not your connection is set to fastpath or interleaved. Given the sorry state of the infrastructure for most ADSL vendors, it’s more common than you’d think for the connection to be set to interleaved to keep the connection in sync at all. Problem is, interleaved essentially doubles pingtimes.

netcode defiantly sucks compared to ggpo, blazblue, mvc2, shit even kaillera is better for me to the same person.
PingTest results mean jack shit in this context.
just a reminder for anyone with dsl: chances are if you call your isp they will change your connection over to fastpath if you ask them. i’m on verizon and had to speak to a level 3 tech. the whole thing took about 5 minutes. i used to ping 60-80 on a lot of games (i’m on the east coast, pinging to mostly east coast and mid us servers) and i ping anywhere between 20 and 40 now
No, I’m on fiber optic from Verizon. I used to have cable and SF4 would lag a little bit during peak times. I don’t have those congestions now so I think at the best you could probably look at this as the as-good-as-you-can-get scenario. I don’t know about other ISPs, but it’s not always the netcode’s fault. Some of you guys are just unlucky to live in the middle of somewhere with a lot less networked servers to send data around.
I play SSF4 perfectly fine and am able to do 1-2f links on a higher consistency than before so I don’t think it’s a netcode fault personally.
And those ping tests, that’s not the same as pinging to PSN or XBL servers. So that’s moot.
well lemme say, if your NAT is moderate like mine, you wont be playing online…
I have tried everything, I can not hard wire my system and I can not get past a moderate NAT. I have opened all ports and such, I have tried getting into an online match for the past hour and only one went to the select screen and then disconnected.
