Response time has nothing to do with input delay. Go to the tech forum, you will learn things there.
Netcode sucks for me majorly. Either it says failed to join game or when i finally get in a match…it’s horribly laggy. I have no problem inputing combo’s offline but when i try to play ranked matches, its basically lag city.
I tried joining 2 man lobby’s with max green bars only and I was still running into half a second input lag.
Yeah, the latency bars pretty much mean nothing in this game.
I wish games would just actually tell us the fucking ping.

so i think im done with online playing (i play on PS3), its just too damn laggy for me to get any combo’s in, i input something then a random move comes out, leave me wide open and the opponent specials me to death…hopefully the netcode gets fixed soon or im forced to sell the game.
Wow this is weird. I find this plays great online with next to no lag most of the time.
Is it me, or does it seem like online is just getting worse by the day? It’s getting harder and harder for me to find people as the days go on, let alone somebody with a reasonable connection. I’ve ran into a couple of matches where I could actually do some decent combos, but the others were just straight up unplayable. I’ve only had around 3-5 ranked matches out of the dozens of times I tried searching for one.
This game is great and I’ve been playing the shit out of it, but the online is really ruining the overall experience for me. When I get my finances straight, I’m undeniably going out and buying a 360, hoping that the online would be much better. I’ve held off on this long enough.
I am on PS3 hardly have had a lag issue out of the 100 or so games played say bout 5 where laggy works great for me finding ranked matches is a tad hard though
I dont have many lag issues anyomore.
Strangely enough after days of lagging and almost breaking my SE, I’ve literally had awesome connections all day and now have a 7 game win streak going. Maybe Capcom finally fixed it?
Actually the opposite for me. Still pretty meh, but less fail to joins and slightly more playably stable games than on the 15th. Still deplorable overall for such a big release.
Is including spectator mode going to be more taxing on the netcode?
I was maybe thinking that Capcom didn’t include spectating because they were concerned that it would tax the netcode further…which is bad, for obvious reasons and netcode being ‘taxed farther’ is the last thing that needs to happen to it, know what I mean?
Is spectator mode only for player match lobbies, and not for ranked? I guess I could avoid it by not doing lobbies and just going straight into ranked. Or is the information being sent to the spectators insignificant and doesn’t require much bandwidth at all. After all, isn’t it just command inputs and then everything is generated user - end?
I thought of this as well. If it’s watching health bars or (even) laggy-er gameplay, I’ll watch the damn health bars.
But I’m hoping they can find a way around it. I mean SSF4, MvC2, and HDR had spectator mode - I assume Capcom had a tough decision to make and they chose the lesser of two evils. Most people (especially here) seem to avoid considering this.
Funny thing is Spectator mode in MvC2 didn’t seem to do anything to the connection of those who were fighting.
So maybe it’s different cause it’s 3D models? shrug
3D models. Visual effects. Background assets. Hi-resolution. A lot of crap.
It would be cool if while you were waiting for your turn in the lobby you could use a pre-selected team in training mode to kill the time. Im not going to sit here and act like im some genius programmer like a lot of people pretend to be on the internet and say it is possible though. Just an idea. Anyone here know if something like this could work or is it just too much?
