Just finished arranging my newest track (Silver Soldier) now I’m down to EQing and probably a bit of polishing.
Anyone have tips on EQing? I haven’t EQ’ed a track in a few years lol
Looks like the newer version of fruity loops. Not sure though. Get cubase. I swear by it.
EQing is tough man. I’ve been doing music for 10 years and I still fuck it up. I use EQ compression. This stops some frequencies from getting out of hand. I actually compress the whole track a little when I’m done too.
Um, no? Dude is on a mac. Pretty sure that’s Logic.
hay guys I have a music page. just a preview of a Drum and bass stuff im experimenting with:

Just say no to the amen.
If you think your drum loop sounds anything like the amen, dump the project. Sorry, but its the harsh truth of electronic music’s current state.
Yeah I just thought about making my own breaks. that was a premade one
Ive found that sampling youtube can be interesting
Its Logic
Something I just uploaded. Let me know what you guys think. Does it need any EQ compression or anything?
Anyone have and/or know where I can get a bunch of prechopped samples to practice with?
My buddy keeps trying to “convert me to the church of Reason” but I’m an Abelton kind of guy.
Does anyone use reason? What are the benefits compared to Abelton?
I make shitty electro beats and haven’t updated my page almost a year but:
myspace.com/UnitK7
-K7
(Just listened to this shit… Ugh. I really didn’t know what leveling was.)
Somebody sell me on Abelton Live. I’m about to start doing live shit and want to be able to do live looping and scratch composition on stage.
Can’t say anything about Reason. No VST support = autodisqualification.
I don’t how you guys don’t use anything but cubase. I kinda understand using live.
Yansoma, its easy to cut things yourself… in cubase.
You keep going off on Cubase this, Cubase that with no substance. Why? What’s so great about Cubase? People do the same shit with Pro Tools, and it’s annoying. If it’s better, you should be able to run down a list of killer features…but it’s the same regurgitated “it’s good because it’s good” recursion shit. Anyway, I can think of a couple reasons I don’t use a Cubendo setup: price, dongle, and no illustrated advantage.
You don’t have to pay for it. Cubase doesn’t have a dongle, that’s pro tools. Cubase is just really streamlined and uses VSTIs really well. Almost everyone I know who has given cubase a good try, stuck with it. That’s how I got to cubase. While looking for a new program I tried about 3 or 4 things and cubase was the best hands down. I’ve been using it for 8 years and I feel no need to upgrade.
I use Reason now after trying FL Studio, Cubase, and Ableton Live. I learned quite a bit about it pretty fast plus I have a massive library of refills/sounds so I don’t really miss VSTs, etc.
yeah, forget I asked you anything.
I figured out how to route my Reason devices to the Cubase mixer after much trial and error. Now I’ve got to sort through all the VST setup files I have on my external hard drive.
