Music Mods for SF4 - Please add your work with youtube examples

It’s important to know that your custom sound clips should be in proper format. SFIVAM shows you the properties of each audio clip inside the CSB.
The WAV file you linked to is 1-channel (Mono), 22 kHz; but should be 44,1 kHz Stereo. That’s why you hear twice as fast music and only from the left speaker.

I made the corrections for you - here’s the modded csb: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZJIWB9YK

I see, very good to know. And thanks a lot for the correct file

holy crap how did i miss this thread! didnt even know we could do this lol, i’m rocking all the ocremix music now, freaking great

did anyone make a sfiii 3s music mod yet?

Has anyone created a music pack that contained the ORIGINAL SF2 CPS1 music??! I would kill for that stuff. The original is the best IMHO. They screwed it up bad when they remixed it for Super & Super Turbo. :frowning:

I would do it if I had taste how to couple SF2/3 themes and SF4 stages so they fit each other.
Post your suggestion here! This thread is open for requests.

I am copying and pasting the this from the readme file of the Hyper SF2 Anniversary sound mod:

\Battle\System
BGM_AFR.csb Guile
BGM_BRA.csb Blanka
BGM_BRX.csb Deejay
BGM_CHN.csb Chun-Li
BGM_CNX.csb Fei Long
BGM_EUR.csb Vega (Claw)
BGM_JPN.csb Ryu
BGM_JPX.csb E.Honda
BGM_LAB.csb M.Bison (Dictator)
BGM_RUS.csb Zangief
BGM_RVR.csb Ken
BGM_SCO.csb Cammy
BGM_USA.csb Balrog (Boxer)
BGM_VCN.csb Akuma/Gouki
BGM_VIE.csb T.Hawk
BGM_VNX.csb Sagat

I think that’s the best way to pair each theme to a stage. However the CPS1 music variant is superior IMHO. I’m surprised nobody has done it yet. Goshanes if you (or anyone else) starts working on this, can you also include the “pressure” versions of each song (i.e. the version that plays when a character is about to die). I’m trying to learn how to make my own sound mods as well and this is something I need to research too. It just wouldn’t feel right without the fast paced near-death music!

EDIT:

This is a large download (500MB), but it contains the CPS1, CPS2 and Arranged variants of all the SF2 music:

http://www.shadowhaxor.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=585

You may already know that stage music consists of 3 AAX files. First one is intro & main loop, while AAX2 and AAX3 represent 2 different fast paced tracks (played at low health or full-meter ultra). It’s cool when music gets faster with pressure rising, but sometimes the game returns to playing back the main loop (i.e. after performed ultra).

Done: [Download Original SF2|CPS1 Music Pack for SFIV](http://www.mediafire.com/file/z1ndiammtg0/System (CPS1).7z)

I followed the steps in Tutorial 2 and converted the desired mp3 file to WAV: 48,000 hz, 32-bit (IEEE Float), Stereo, PCM (float) using Sound Forge 10. I then used the file “adxencd” to convert the WAV file by dragging and dropping it and subsequently used it with CSB packer. I used the source main menu music in the first drop down, and then added the new adx file in the next 4 drop downs. It worked (or so I thought) but when I opened up SFIV all I got was white noise on the main menu. Any ideas on how I can fix this? I used the MP3 that student1 provided on his youtube video comment section from rapidshare- in the tutorial.

  1. Sample rate of ADX format is locked to 16-bit. I guess that’s why you hear white noise - your WAV is 32-bit, so it needs downsampling to 16-bit.

  2. You may forget about CSB packer - it is rather obsolete, especially versions before 1.1 lack useful functionality and cannot modify CPK files. Instead use the SFIV Audio Manager from my signature - supports all CSB/CPK packages and gives detailed information about their audio properties.

  3. Have a look at this page. There are links to a nice video tutorial by Leogansky that will give you a good start on using the modding tool.

Best regards.

Hey thanks for the fast reply  I realised that it was something to do with the audio conversion so I decided to mess around with different samples. I realised that the original audio format was like you said 16-bit, so I tried a different setting and through trial and error I came out with the right one ! It worked. I am usually quite alright with computers, but one thing I am not is an audiophile :stuck_out_tongue:

I will definitely download that Manager, thanks for the help.

Downloading now!

BIG THANKS dude. I hadn’t checked this thread because I thought you would need a few days to work on it. Major props for getting it done so quick! Thanks a ton!!!

Anybody ripping SSF4 sounds and themes for SF4 PC?

Nice but the download rate is far too low, could you post it elsewhere ?

I there by any way a chance to get rival music play random in stages?
Like that i could fit in music for every character of the cast.
I also found a adx converter with user interface, which was developed for PES 2010 soundfiles.
But it seemed to work well with SF4.

Btw do csb stage files contain anything else besides the music?
I was wondering if it would be possible to just copy paste the original ssf4 xbox360 *.csb files from the disc and use them in SF4. I would love to use the stage music from ssf4 without getting the music volume toned down. Anyone know if there are such files on the disc?
