practiced hard? i’m sorry but coming up with cool 2 person combos doesn’t really do anything.
Still, its a trailer, and a few combos are not as easy as they look…
Maybe u like the final version more.
I only ever play original characters in Mugen. There are some good ones out there.
actually, they do look very easy
its all cr.lk’s from one person into supers from the other, into more supers
Hey, can somebody provide me a link to the Capcom vs SNK 2 lifebars? I can’t find them anywhere, and the last two that I did find wouldn’t install correctly. I followed the tutorials on youtube but it just crashed the game.
Are there any mugen games that play (not so much worried about looks) the same as the games they’re trying to emulate? I mean accurate frame data etc. Some of the ones I’ve tried had obvious things missing (like hit pause).
Not really. I have yet to find one that does.
How many of you are using the new official HD release candidate from Elecbyte? I’m glad that they are back, new version looks way better.
Is there anywhere you guys might know of where I could find a list of original games created with the Mugen engine? By that I mean games that aren’t emulating existing arcade games or that aren’t just packs of edited characters?
yes there are. theyre single chars however
GM made the best sf3ts and motw chars for example
just ask if you need anything:wgrin:
The Black Heart
SHADES of Manhattan
Babel Sword
and just in case you missed it
elecbytes back!!!

I totally agree, GM’s chars are one of the best Mugen 3S characters. The AI in his characters are amazing too.
Which brings me to this subject : I compare the AI of his characters to the ones of current games like SF4. For example, why Capcom can’t manage to do some decent AIs like GM? I know that fighting games are designed to be played between humans. But at least they can create a decent AI. If I can use other Mugen authors who design acceptable AI, Rei (who did CVS2 chars), Muteki with his great GG chars and many more…
These authors should present their work to these companies so the latter may at least attempt to improve their AI code programming in the future.
how to make a mugen fighting game:
step 1: make the COOLEST CHARACTER EVER. he has to be a BADASS. EVEN BETTER IF HIS NAME STARTS WITH ‘DARK’ OR ‘EVIL’ OR ‘SHIN’ OR ‘SHADOW’. DARK AND EVIL THINGS ARE SO COOL. wait you know else would be cool? howabout holy or light characters!! that’d be great!!!
step 2: give the coolest character ever made the coolest prefight intro ever made. this should be so awesome that it will make goku powering up for 5 episodes of dragonball as exciting as brushing your teeth. because your character would TOTALLY KICK GOKUS ASS.
step 3: ALL SUPER MOVES ARE SUPER LONG COMBOS. because mugen players suck at fighting games, so you have to combo for them.
step 4: repeat steps 1-3 for EVERY CHARACTER. no exceptions.
any questions? here is an example video from the first post of this thread:
p.s.
fuck mugen.
I tried a few of GM’s chars and yeah they are pretty damn good. Still learning a bit more about Mugen though. I’m interested in it because one can use the AI like a scriptable training dummy. It’s pointless if the characters are accurate though.
for step 1: GOD or DEVIL is also acceptable and badass.
also, when creating a game, be sure to include as many characters as possible, and dont bother tweaking any of them to actually fit together in any way.
i’d like to play around with mugen, but i can never bring myself to learn to do anything.
the new one looks like it might be worth playing around with, now that its back and will get updated somewhat regularly.
also if the character prefix is “PSYCHOTIC” then that means that the character can now fly
oh nice, thx for pointing those out, they are really good! been looking for alpha 3 and third strike chars and these are some of the best i’ve found. if you know of any other good and accurate characters let me know. thanks again
Has there ever been an SRK attempt at creating a Mugen game? If so, what was the outcome? I reckon it could be bad-ass if it were taken seriously. There’s more than enough talent on here to produce something worthwhile, even if 80% of it is ripped off from other places.
LOL, I understand your viewpoint if I would rely on that video you posted. You should also consider other video such as these :

I also find ridiculously overpowered characters (Shin Ken, Dark Sean, Ultimate whatever,) or stupid characters (Stickman) but I do give props to those who are able to put a certain balance to their characters. Like I mentionned earlier, some authors are able to apply great, reasonable AI in their characters, almost mimicking real good casual players
Idk, but I know some members as POTS who created balanced characters. I agree that members of the SRK would greatly contribute to the MUGEN community. It’s cool to see newcomers like Simard. I tried his MVC2 Rogue ( www.mediafire.com/simard ). It’s not bad, although I feel he needs to put some improvements on that char. The AI isn’t bad but basic. MUGEN isn’t as bad some people may claim. Yes, it does have its flaws and ridiculous creations, but it’s a good tool when used correctly.
I have a problem with my MUGEN. I got a copy of no limit Mugen from my boy, and I had done a system restore, I couldnt play the game afterwards, didnt have the icon, and some other stuff changed around. It looks like alot of stuff is still the same, like data, chars, ect. There are over 8GB worth of chars.
What is the easiest way to get back to playing it? I saw some stuff I want to add and play with.
Hey I just downloaded a Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Last Rise of Heroes screenpack, but it doesn’t seem to have a co-op option. Anyway I can put co-op in this? Thanks
Does anyone have a link for Guile’s Alpha 3 train stage? I’m trying to find it. Every link I’ve come across online is currently broken. If you’ve got a link, please post it up. Much appreciated.
