Hi, i’m very new to Mugen, it seems daunting at first but i’m eager to get stuck in!
What i would like to create is a very simple Capcom vs SNK fighter. Nothing fancy, just a few characters, maybe 12, and a healthy amount of balance.
Where would i be able to find basic characters like this? ie none of that Supreme Omega Rainbow Mika or anything, just Ken, Ryu, Mai, Kasumi, whatever.
Is these even possible, or does it focus more on edited characters?
I’m looking for the characters and stages for Super Turbo. I’ve looked all over and downloaded a couple of large torrents, but most of these contain none, or very few of these old SF characters.
Does anyone know if there’s a super turbo pack out there somewhere?
I don’t think there are many accurate character conversions for ST, but there are stages and lifebars at least. I’d try to give you some links, but all of the “database” sites seem to be dead now.
Hmm, that’s too bad. To be honest, at this point, I’d be happy to even find a decent collection of the sprites for the characters in Super Turbo, even if the moves and stuff aren’t complete.
If you find anything, feel free to let me know :wgrin:
I ripped Ryu’s entire spriteset recently. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1YYV5NWG
They still need to be cleaned up, cropped, and palettized, but everything’s there. The axes are all correct (meaning that Ryu as an object is in the same position on the screen in every picture… same goes for each other individual object (fireballs, hitsparks, etc.)).
Also a couple people I’ve talked with on a Mugen forum have expressed interest in doing some accurate conversions of all the SSF2T characters, and I’ll probably be helping them out. So you might have that to look forward to eventually. Don’t know if they’ll be doing stages and stuff too, but maybe I’ll suggest it.
I’m really curious. How did you go about capturing all these images with Ryu doing all the moves at the same position? I’m guessing some tool like ArtMoney or something?
That’d be great! Please let me know if you hear more about this. If the work is relatively easy to do and if I can find the time, maybe I can help a bit?
Exactly. ArtMoney’s very useful for this sort of thing. It’s also just fun for screwing around with (I want to upload some videos of the crazy stuff I’ve done in ST with ArtMoney, but my computer’s too slow to record decent footage…)
Last I heard, they’re in the process of ripping the sprites and such now. They said they’d get back to me when the time for coding and such comes. When that time comes around, I’ll see if they want anyone else to test or help out.
shuhbonkboo, I’m not sure what you’re talking about. If you mean “engine” in terms of gameplay systems, than each individual character usally has their engine’s specifics programmed into them. So conforming them all to one play style would require editing the code of each one. If you’re talking about looks, things like lifebars and meters, character select screens, announcer voices, etc., you change that by downloading and installing a new screenpack.
can spmeone plz tell me what am i doing wrong or wad is hapening? i cant get lots of character to load on my eve character select instead of a question mark its blank,i know i did it correctly though, yesterday i just tried gouki & it worked but i removed it but today it appears as blank??? someone plz help im sick of dis-_-
Ok, I’ve read through all 17 pages of this thread so hopefully I’m not asking a question that has already been answered. I would like to know how to change the character pics on the character select screen. Some of the characters I’ve download have terrible pics or messed up pics. Does anyone know how to do this? :wonder:
I’m sorry if it has already been asked but has any one tried to download mugen for windows vista? I just bought a new computer and would love to have mugen.
It’s ridiculously hard to find some of those rare characters. I don’t really want to dl the 4 gig torrents and crap like that just for mugen. Anyone know good sites to dl characters? Some of the ones everyone suggests seem to be down (i.e. mugeninfantry, streetmugen, etc)
