"Movie And A Show" Thread: Popcorn Optional

I saw FF: Hobbs and Shaw.

Pretty good.

Pros:
The camaraderie/back and forth between the leads
Idris is a great actor who can make a thin villain fun
Ryan Reynolds scenes were funny(Was he ever in a previous film?)
Action is good with a crazy finale

Cons
There are some scenes that bring the movie to a halt like Rock talking to his daughter and other exposition scenes.

Overall: 8/10

No. He hasn’t. His role in H&S is also uncredited. They did it on purpose to surprise the audience. More of his character in F&F plz.

Less of Kevin Hart’s though.

Lol I was like wait… Did Ryan Reynolds have a character I missed before lmfao. The third act was weird i dunno maybe I liked more of the hand to hand action than explosion stuff.

Apparently the head of Entreon or whatever the group Brixon worked for was supposed to be Keanu Reeves but they couldn’t get him to commit due to so many projects he had going on during filming. That’s why they kept the leaders identity a mystery, used a distorted voice of an uncredited actor and kept everything as vague as possible.

F&F guys really want to work with him.

Lol I was wondering why they didn’t reveal him
Seemed like they wanted to.

Was Morpheus in any of the previous John Wick movies?

Yes. He plays the Bowery King. In the John wick verse “The Bowery” is a group of people that work as an underground communication network in New York that blend in with modern society disguising themselves as homeless people.

Oh ok, I only saw Wick 3. Was kinda nostalgic seeing them together since the Matrix series…

He debuts in JW2 when John is trying to hunt someone down. They hint that the Bowery helps The Association by selling them info on targets. Or at the very least they know each other exist due to Bowery King saying they will honor the The Associations Excommunicato of John in 3.

The mutual knowledge of each other and what the other is capable of is explained further with the Adjudicator being fearful of the retaliation from the Bowery (“the below”) if John survives since she figures (and correctly assumes) they would seek each other out so they could go to war with the high table.

Their are a few matrix references throughout the series

Kevin Hart is on the Seth Rogan tier to me. Either can be fine as a supporting character but I can only take so much of either one screaming in a movie before I want to turn it off.

That is exaclty how i feel about Will Farrel.

Kevin Hart’s best role was in 40 year old virgin.

"Don’t be my negro man. Be my nigga "

Of course you would say that…

He brought RockB to life. Cinematic perfection.
Short annoying yet willing to start fights over dumb shit
