Just got out of seeing detective pikachu with some friends. None of them liked it.
It makes me super sad. When we got out of the theater all they did was bitch about it. When they asked what I thought of it I said I loved it and they all looked at me like I was insane.

Sheâs older. She had serious cancer⊠She was always pretty skinny to begin with. She has a family which can add stressor. Her husband was out gettin international hoes. Aannndd sheâs old.
Honestly she looks better than alot of old white ladies in Hollywood who have even less stress.
You need better and happier friends.

Not liking what looks to be a very average movie at best doesnât mean you are unhappy.
Even the Pokefans I have talked to say itâs a good Pokemon movie but a pretty meh movie over all. If you arenât invested in Pokemon then I donât really see someone giving a shit.

I can see why people like the movie. But I definitely also see why people didnât like it. I donât knock either of those kinds of people for their opinion. So I donât really blame Stuâs friends in this case. Lol
Best parts of the movie are like the first 15-20 minutes and the Mr.Mime scene.
They are though. Itâs all we talked about since we made the plans. So I was like âfuck yeah. Iâm excited theyâre excited. This is going to be a great timeâ and then when we got out the theater and all the did was bitch about every single little thing it was super disheartening.
I wouldnât say âmeh over allâ but itâs definitely has its missteps. If it wasnât for PokĂ©mon The Movie and arguably Pokemon 2000 it would be the best PokĂ©mon movie available right now though.
Itâs such an amazing love letter to all the mediums PokĂ©mon have been in. Tv, Video games, Anime, movies, real life pop culture, the mangaâs. Everything. They put so much thought, care and love to making the real and fantasy of PokĂ©mon blend together so well. Thatâs what makes it so great to me.
It feels like more a celebration of everything PokĂ©mon has achieved and how it was apart of millions of peopleâs lives growing up or even still in their lives today or those people passing their love of the franchise down to the next generation.
Them being Pokefans might make them even pickier then otherwise. It could easily go both ways.
I havenât seen it but the trailers donât make me want to see it and peopleâs impressions have been incredibly mixed.
Keep hearing Mr. Mime is the best part lol.
It didnât even remotely come across that way. Iunno. Either way it was super disappointing that they felt that way.
Just gotta shake off their negativity and get hype for John Wick 3 on Thursday

I did see a headline the other day that said Detective Pikachu is the worst videogame movie of all time. My eyes bout rolled out of my head at that fucking nonsense.
The must not know about the entire Resident Evil Cinemaverse. Or Doom. Or Bloodrayne. Or Silent Hill. Or MK: Annihilation. Or Hitman.
Edit: how could I forget Final Fantasy: Spirits Within? Or Pixels?
I could go on for a while.
John Wick 3 tickets are on sale at my theater now. But it says at the bottom of the page more viewings will be available for purchase tomorrow. So Iâll wait til then. I want to see it Thursday but I donât want to see it at 7pm. If they have a 4PM showing like they did for Detective Pikachu and Godzilla then Iâll go on Thursday. If not, I have no issues waiting until first showing Friday. Which is at noon.
