There’s actually a documentary about the history of black people and horror films on the Shudder network…
It seems like until only recently black folks merely existed to get killed off in horror movies gruesomely.
I remember AVP Requiem had a black kid drowning in the pool and then killed by the alien lol.

P.S. The genre is so saturated it is difficult to make something truly new and still have selling power without a gimmick.

Alita Battle Angel is finally up for preorder on iTunes and certain retailers: Amazon and Target so far.
It doesn’t have a release date yet. I’m just happy I can finally preorder it. According the iTunes it releases on July the 9th. Digital always releases a few week before physical so my guess is end of July or early August for Blu-Ray.
Edit: I was right. End of July. The 23rd. It was just announced on social media. Get hype!
