"Movie And A Show" Thread: Popcorn Optional

Watching Emperors new groove. Probably the first time I’ve watched it since release. Maybe a little after that.

Pacha’s wife tho.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is aesthetically and mechanically one of the best in its genre. The same cannot be said of another mediocre Star Wars sequel that is inferior to its predecessors.

Might as well be

Ninja Gaiden II is honestly a pretty ugly game with extremely bland and boring locations and enemy designs that look like they came out of a 5th graders spiral notebook. Level design is pedestrian as fuck to. It’s mechanics are solid enough I guess.

None of that matters tho because the games performance is pure dog shit and falls apart because it it. Spend more time fighting the AWFUL frame rate then anything else in the game. Massive disappointment and HUGE step backwards from Black. NGII falls far short of greats like DMC1, NGB, and Bayonetta 1.

I played Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden II Sigma and have to call bullshit on your assessment. The second game ran better and had much more elaborate levels and greater visual variety than the first. To even compare Bayonetta to the bottom of the barrel Razor’s Edge is to invite scrutiny. DMC1 while more interesting in its level design, story, and presentation is not nearly as free form as Ninja Gaiden II in its gameplay. DMC3 would have been a more nuanced choice.

Ninja Gaiden II Sigma and Ninja Gaiden II are not the same game. The performance issues alone are way, WAY different.

He’s talking about Sigma II hahahaha.

Why wouldn’t I talk about the definitive version of the Ninja Gaiden II? Your self imposed limitations are arbitrary.

Because you didn’t say Sigma, you said 2. You should specificy the versions you mean as II and Sigma are hella different. Sigma II has a host of its own problems the least of which being most NGII fans really dislike it lol.

Anyway should probably get back to talking about movies yea?

Agreed.

I recently noticed that the current decade has been mostly devoid of good martial arts films. With the exception of 2014’s ‘The Raid 2’ since this decade started in 2011 there has not been any real hits in the genre. Have there been other films that anyone has watched that have bucked this trend?

Just bought Tropic Thunder Directors Cut off iTunes for $4.99.

I’ve never seen it before (it didn’t look good to me when it came out) but my taste in movies and humor in general have changed. Plus, only $5 so if I hate it, who cares? It was only $5

Edit: man…the dialog in this movie has not aged well at all.

Oh I always knew where it came from. It’s one of the reasons I never watched the movie until now.

The movie was uh…fine. Definitely glad it was only $5. I would have been pissed about wasting my money otherwise.

It’s…Chucky!

HAHAHA true!

Maybe you shouldn’t make a fucking horrible movie to end a trilogy on then.

Yeah; I didn’t even watch the movie, but I spoiled it for myself before going and am glad I did. I would have been pissed ALL the way the fuck off if I spent time in the theater seeing that.

This is exactly what I did cause glass looked like shit out of the gate. Just reading the spoilers pissed me off and made me feel bad for anyone that spent money on that shit.
