alright watched Dark Phoenix again (first time was a cam rip lol) and tbh as not good as it was, this is like at least twice better than Apoc movie. I donât understand the really bad reviews and or reception. I really think it might be a Disney move to boycott this movie. In retrospective, they should have released this shit in Feb and move Alita the GOAT Angel to summer.

From what I understand itâs just bad perception of xmen movies. It wasnât this movie was especially bad honestly Iâve heard more positive things from people who saw it. Itâs just that so many people didnât watch it it failed. The third act also made it suffer.

Alita would probably failed if it got moved to the Summer.
Keep in mind James Cameron was afraid of Alita to compete with the Dark Phoenix
there was nothing to compete against mid July. DP was released early July then it was Tarantinoâs film late early August and that is R rated so not really a blockbuster flick. Early summer was stacked yes and some movies suffered from it but Alita imo had more summer vibes than a lot of things I watched this year

I really donât see a point in a remake of a notable film with less star power. I do wish that Snake Eyes would get a remake though as I feel that it did not live up to its potential.
YeahâŚwouldnât put it past Hollywood to genderswap the 2 main characters.

so about Alita.
i rarely compliment cgi, but in this case i got to. everything cg looked pretty believable and great, especially Alitaâs face.
which, at first, was jarring with her big anime eyes, but by the end i appreciated her beauty.
those big brown eyes were hard to not love.
the Alita actress was great. not over the top but not understated.
film was very compelling and drew me in.
2nd half was better than first half.
i feel the movie wouldve done better if it was a tad longer. 15 more minutes added to the 1st half especially the beginning cuz the 1st part felt a tad rushed.
music was competent but meh, not memorable.
but the reason im writing about this movie was mostly because of this.
fuckin movie was waaaaaaaaaaay more violent and gruesome than i ever imagined it was gonna be.
cant talk details without spoilers.
but you know how 80s action movies were always mad violent and gruesome? explicit violence is the term im looking for.
well this fuckin movie had it. i dont know if the movie is rated R or PG13 but god damn it felt like a rated R movie.
