Virtua fighter.
Yes it has a loyal fan base but it doesn’t get the same level of love SF and Tekken get.
I recently downloaded and played DOA5 the core fighters and all it really did was remind me how amazing VF is.

DOA is a dog shit fighter making money by selling bouncing boobs in skimpy costumes to hormone filled teenagers. YEAH I SAID IT!

I mean I don’t even have to mention SFxT :-p pretty criminal what happened to it in the realm of public opinion. But 2013 is fantastic, one of my favorite FGs.

Garou Mark of the Wolves- While I think that 3S is a more technical game, I admit that I have more fun with Garou. If you like an SNK take on 3S complete with a laughably easy to use and broken top tier character, a huge difference in tiers and a poorly designed grappler who is 1/2 effective due to a glitch, play Garou.

KOF XI- My favorite KOF tied with 98, it’s a gem in the rough. Other than some balance issues and the fact that movement is a little slippery, the game is great. It’s fast, it’s like MVC2 in the fact that the player can switch out characters on the fly and if you really practice the game, the game rewards you with stupid combo and damage possibilities. It’s a barrel of fun, I hope you all play it.

Love both of these but especially, ESPECIALLY KOF XI. I’ve been tempted to re-learn the game just for kicks just because it was so much fun. It’s my favorite of the series.

I’ll also mention SSVS, VSav and KOFXIII. They’re actually rated very highly by the community at large, but no one seems to play them except very tiny communities here and there. Doesn’t really matter if people think a game is good if you can’t ever find anybody playing the damn thing. Never really understood how people could praise a game and then just not even give it the time of day.

SFxT is fun at least from what I’ve played. Juggle footsies > Zero vs Vergil 3: Tale of Hidden Missiles.

My vote probably goes to P4A. Despite critical acclaim there is no love for it. It’s amazing a niche franchise gets a quality FG like this one.

I agree about the STXTK. I really like that game. It’s really fun. Too bad GfWL is going to be shut down and that game won’t be appearing on Steam (God knows why).

Vanilla SFxT was meh.

2013 however is another story. Had the game been that way at the start it might have been just as big as SFIV.

+1 for SFxT. I almost didn’t buy vanilla SFxT but it ended up being fun enough that I haven’t touch AE since (as much as I loved SF4). The whole fiasco has really opened my eyes to at least giving games a decent chance at launch; I, now, regret not doing so with Marvel, KoF or Skull Girls.

The mostly likely reason for P4A not getting that love it deserve is because of Blazeblu and Guilty Gear.

No regrets for Daraku Tenshi/Fallen Angels from the late 90’s? Damn good ersatz of SNK’s Art of Fighting series with a new twist and combos were a breeze to pull. It’s so underrated many didn’t even know it even existed in arcades. If playing with an unlocked/hacked version, you could even play with the boss.

@blufang Not only is the Vampire Savior/Darkstalker series underrated, but from Capcom also Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, my favourite version being the japanese one for dreamcast. Hopefully the recent PS3 Jojo fighter game will make the previous 2D version less “underrated”.
