Most boring/hated stretches of generally good games

Well, I’m not only talking about the stories being bad, I’m talking about the entire game. Every game from Bethesda/BioWare that I’ve played has had terrible stories, horrible gameplay and dialogue that was so bad that I would end up skipping it all. Honestly, I’m slowly starting to dislike the genre, but usually something comes along that’s awesome like the ARPG Demon’s Souls. The only game that I’m looking forward with any RPG elements in it is Diablo III. White Knight Chronicles and FFXIII look like the same shit I’ve been playing for years, so I will only rent them.

Have you even played mass effect? Or ANY of the Baldur’s gate games? The dialog is fucking awesome! Bioware can write the he’ll out of some dialog. Bethesda is lacking on that but bioware isn’t. Fallout had a great story, and mass effect’s story is awesome. Oblivion … Well. That story was lack luster.

Anyway, stinks you feel that way because bioware makes awesome
games.

I’ve never played Baldur’s Gate games, though they look interesting to me because the gameplay itself looks like Diablo/Untold Legends style overhead ARPG. I have played NWN and Jade Empire, and I thought they were terrible.

I thought Fallout 3’s story was okay, it wasn’t that great. Follow your dad around for over half of the main game, purify some water, kill what’s left of a government.

Any period in Persona 4 between when you finish one dungeon and when the story section of the next chapter starts.

Depending how fast you finish each dungeon, you might have 2-3 weeks of just social links before anything actually happens with the story :bluu:

AC2: All of those “Follow this guy. But do it slowly. Don’t get too close now. Oh, you’re getting too far away. HI I’M A LUTE PLAYER. I PLAY THE LUTE. WHAT ARE YOU DOING. SOMETHING IMPORTANT? Oh, you silly man you’re too far away from the guy you’re meant to follow because of the lute player. LET ME PLAY YOU THE SONG OF MY PEOPLE. Oh, looks like you just broke the lute players jaw, that guy is startled and he’s ran off. Start again.” missions. Especially, I think it’s that first one where you follow the dude [spoilers] and the guy he’s meeting stabs him, I didn’t know you could climb a nearby wall for the first like, 4 goes. And then the last one, that goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and all you’re doing is [spoilers] stealing a stupid costume to then have to follow someone else for a good while.

Concerning the MGS:3 ladder part. This was done because you just finished off a big boss in the storyline, and its almost like a movie where they have the protagonist reflect upon everything while you’re going up a ladder. The ladder being so long is for transition, but its also to emphasize the heroic actions that preceded.

That’s one of the reasons why MGS is such a great game series. It doesn’t cater to people who just like long droves of enemies coming at them to make it feel ACTION PACKED.

Unlocking stuff in most fighting games.

Fuck. That. Shit.

Also, waiting until you can afford a decent car in a racing game.

Whatever, I assumed it did since the first one had that abomination. Never finished the SP for MW2.

Getting all the chaos emeralds in Sonic 1,2,3

hey.

Or people who like some gameplay with their games.

Jesus Christ yes. I’m on my second playthrough now, just reached this area, and haven’t played it in days. I just can’t stand it.

What I don’t understand is how does Snake eat on that ladder anyway?

Or, for that matter, how does anyone else go up that ladder? Hell, down even, that’s one scary as hell drop.

halo 1 the library…

  • any part of any game that prevents me from playing against other people within a few seconds of my hitting the Start button

oh yeah, the fade on dragonage ensures that my 1st playthrough im on now, is my only one. lol

I hate when you have no fucking options as far as a good car, if I had like 100 to choose from and there were like 20-25 more to unlock I’d be fine because that gives me some drive to play through the single player modes.

i personally enjoyed that part of shenmue 2 quite a bit…it was a nice change of pace and the scenery was amazing

Andy Astroids in Earthworm Jim sucks since you have to do it so many times.

you’re an idiot if you liked that part of the game.

MGS 2,3 and 4 - Anyone who enjoys those games are probably fans of Lost, Heroes and Joss Whedon. They all suck due to the cut scenes.

That part in Gears of War 2 where you have to carry the bomb with Dom while being swarmed by Wretches you can only shoot the pistol. This parts only really annoying when youre doing it by yourself but try doing it with someone else controlling Dom and it becomes REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REEEAAALLLY annoying.

WTF you talkin about?? That shit was easy and fun. Now play puppy love in EJ2 and tell me that its better than AA. You cant. Its boring and tiresome AND gets longer as the game goes on. One of the reasons why the first game is better overall.
