Junction 100 Deaths to your weapon.
WTF?
Double WTF?
Kingdom Hearts has by far the dumbest, scrubbiest, mash friendly gameplay out of ANY action RPG I’ve ever played.
if you actually understood my post…you’d understand I’m only speaking comparatively. (in case you still don’t understand…between KH1 and KH2)
in KH, it actually didn’t have to be mashy…you still could/had to time stuff. and plenty of fights were not dumb (sephy for example).
but then going to KH2…that’s when I felt truly mashy and so then it also fault truly dumb/scrubby. Like, I don’t even know what I’m doing, whatever it is takes 0 timing, and sora is just spinning around and shit and shit’s flying out here and there.
Yes, but it only reduces encounters from every step to every two three steps. Junctioning Death helps make everything go faster, but it’s still a lot of fights.
I dunno I feel like KHII is more technical in some aspects and more scrubby in others. I have more fun with two cause it doesn’t have auto combos and I can see whats going on and I just didn’t find KH1s levels and horrendous platforming charming enough to go back to it to many times. I really enjoy doing low level runs in KHII though.
i’d still take 1 over 2…I’ve spoken with other players, and they agreed that yeah…2 is more mashy/scrubby…but probably in just that whole combat aspect the game is meh. I’ll watch videos of people playing, and I just see sora changing colors, flying around and spinning and shit is just happening. meh
maybe if they didn’t have that retarded roxas part at the beginning, I’d give it another chance. (my ps2 mem card was stolen)
aside from those 2 things that stood out to me about 2, I vaguely remember there was some other stuff I didn’t like. Like…I think they did something with the gummi ship part that I hated (I liked gummi ship in part 1)
Yeah, I find the ship segments in the Ratchet & Clank games to be boring, too. It just feels like a different game entirely, and it takes away from the rest of the game. I feel the same way about forced vehicle segments of just about every game?like the Gummi Ship parts of Kingdom Hearts and everything about the new Zelda games.
I don’t like the Gummy ship in either game honestly but it was better in KH1. I was actually able to build a ship in that after fighting the build a ship system for some hous. Never managed to actually create anything in KHII but really the Gummy Ship sucks in both games in my opinion. Shit it didn’t even get ok in KH1 until the end of the game when you could at least build a ship worth a damn.
yeah, I understand why most hate the gummi ship but I loved it sooo much except in KH2
FFX: most of the sphere/aeon puzzles were alright…but I vaguely remember the Shiva one and the Bahamut one being pain’s in the ass.
I remember those, I had a friend that would actually keep splitting them until the red would appear and it killed me. I think the best thing he’s ever gotten it to drop was a very common “rare” sword, can’t remember it’s name but I remember it dropped more often than anything else I swear, and when that dropped from one he gave up
I thought GTAIV was largely awful, come to think of it. Nothing about it impressed me, and I didn’t have actual fun at any point while playing it.
One of my main is Seth in SFIV but getting him was a pain and very boring. I not too much into story of fighting games either.
So beating it with everyone was very tedious and boring.
Fixed for you.
The thread said GOOD games.
That said, the Big levels on Sonic Adventure. Its…different but ultimately I just want to get back to the other stages. They’re all faster, and even the knuckles search stages allow you to fly around and explore more. Obviously, the Sonic and Tails segments are best, with the Amy ones behind; she’s not as purely fast but its interesting being a “weak” character for once and being chased by the zero series.
That Shiva puzzle was dumb because of the horrible camera angle that hid the optimal sliding solution. Having to go upstairs to the computer, log into AOL (sigh), look up the solution, then go back to the PS2 just killed the good vibes that the game was putting out.
The Zanarkand one wasn’t fun either. Just tedious, since you needed a piece of graphing paper to write down where the tetris pieces were.
BOTH of which are horrible, mashy, dumbed-down, Action RPGs.
Your point being?
What? FFX was so easy you didn’t need a guide for anything aside from finding the other Aeons and those Al Bhed Primers. Zanarkand was cake.
I think that the problem with GTA 4 was that San Andreas was too good of a game and IV could never live up to San Andreas. Which isn’t to say that I didn’t like IV but San Andreas as too epic.
Somebody’s probably mentioned it by now, but the Job missions from the First No More Heroes were tedious.
I’d just do the same Assassination Jobs over, and over again and try to do them faster each time to make it more interesting
the point being that I was comparing the too. and there was definitely a difference and plenty of instances where dumb mashing didn’t get you anywhere in KH1 (like seph fight for example). Everyone got it, except for you.
umm, that’s exactly what we’re talking about. the aeons part. LOL
That. I had similar feelings playing Mass Effect 1 for 3 hours and spending 60% of that time in elevators.
Also, every unskippable, mandatory tutorial-mission in any game ever.
