Most boring/hated stretches of generally good games

I would have to say that about Persona 4 actually, i love Persona 3 FES to much to say anything bad about it.

Persona 4- Everytime you have to gather info or just end up talking period. WAY to much talking and dragging on.

FF7- When you arrive to the town of Kalm and Cloud starts talking about Sephiroth, and when you are in the lifestream with Tifa

Sonic 3&K- Sandolopis stage, nuff said.

Any RPG where i soon find out its a grindfest game >_>

FFX- Going through the Trials to get the summons

I can’t think of any more right now, but if i do ill post again.

i’ll cast yet another vote for “the library”

just cause i want to shit on that level some more… entire threads could be based on the hate for that level… but its a beaten dog i suppose…

Persona 3 put me to sleep. The most boring RPG I’ve ever played. I’m a grinder too so I’m always doing repetitive shit to the max. Persona 3? Boring. Story? Boring. The battles? Boring too. P3 killed the Persona series for me.

Couldn’t fucking agree more. Sandopolis got easy once you figured out that slide pattern. I can do it flawlessly now. However, those damn praying mantis’s in Metropolis to this day cause me to lose every single one of my rings. The worse part is when they throw those claws as you’re ascending on those screws and bolts. Ugh…i’ve been playing that game for 15+ years now and it still drives me crazy.

Shinobi 3 had a similar bug late in the game.

I would have added that too, except Megaman 8 isn’t a good game.

Thank you. All this bitching about the MGS3 ladder is getting rediculous.

Seriously? What about the music?

Man there is a part of Sonic 2 where your going up one of those screws and there are those exploding star fish and if one knocks you off the screw bolt your fucked. Your stuck. You can’t go backwards and you can’t get back on the screw. all you can do is let the timer run down. Fucking sucks and the only flaw in an otherwise perfect game.

Whenever you see the starfish moving, all you have to do is slow down, and begin moving in the reverse direction. You gotta time it just right and you’ll be able to dodge the spikes. However, in the event that you do get knocked off, you actually are able to backtrack the level a bit. When you return, the position of the bolt should be reset, and you should be able to continue on with the level. So honestly, i dunno which version of Sonic 2 you’re playing. Sorry about all your wasted time waiting for the timer to run out. I wish i could give you all that wasted time back…lol

And to Zero, Metropolis’ music was absolutely amazing when i heard it all those years back. That tune was stuck in my head for ages. 16 bit jams at it’s best.

Nero was fun to play with but after getting
Dante it was over. Having to switch back yo Nero for the last two levels pissed me off.

Also, the last level of DMC was total bullshit. You already had to fight the bosses twice, now you have to do
it a third time? Totally took all the momentum out of the home stretch.

Not the part I’m talking about. You go through one of those zoom doors that zips you about and you can’t go back through it. It has a praying mantis badnick and then the bolt. It is easy to avoid falling but it still makes me nervious.

He didn’t miss much then. DMC4 wasn’t all that great anyway. I basically did the same thing and sold it after only having it for 3 days.

Most of Mass Effect side quests. Altogether, they’re longer than the story missions, but most of them are so damn boring. Story missions are awesome though.

in FFT, the deep dungeon. Combing every square of the levels with move-find item while keeping an enemy alive because you needed to actually FIND the exit on every PITCH BLACK level…ugh. Yeah I know that spirit crystals lit up the room but it doesn’t make it any more fun to do.

Forgot about those zoom doors. Back in the day, seeing that shit was intense. haha the flashing and the zooom noise. I miss the feelings i get playing those old school games. Kids these days don’t appreciate the little things in games. No wonder most current games, more or less suck…or are a complete rehash of something thats been done to death before.

lol my mistake regardless.

Got me there.

Bum bum-bum, DUN DUN DUNN!

I’m with you dude. Little bitches crying over pixels instead of creativity. Lamest shit ever.

the elevator battle in prince of persia: sands of time

actually any long winded combat in sands of time, it really made the experience mediocre for me

-Getting 100% completion on all stories in Blazblue: Calamity Trigger
-Tales of Symphonia: Dungeons. Using the Sorcerer’s Ring over and over is a pain in the ass.
-Final Fantasy VI: protecting Banon while going down the river on the raft.
-Chrono Trigger: The dungeon before you go fight the Queen of Zeal before Lavos. Also, the Lavos battle where you have to fight several of the game’s previous bosses.
-Final Fantasy XII- Giruvegan. I never really liked-liked this game as much as the previous titles and this was the final nail in the coffin for me playing this game.

Has anyone mentioned this yet? Gathering intel on your next victim in assassins creed? The same 3 fucking tasks before every kill? Fuck that noise. I stopped playing the damn game for months because of this.

Assassin’s Creed 2 sorta fixed this, but it’s still not the greatest experience i’ve had…
