Just curious what you guys think is the most balanced game in the series (not counting XII just yet of course), and this can include the UM editions of 98 and 02.
UM 98 and 2k2, OG 98 and 2k2 i think? KOF94 is debatable, same as XI
I can’t wait to refute anyones claims that 98UM Krauser ruins the game…
Their argument will be just as shallow as “Kula, Gato and Oswald ruin KOFXI.”

I would say 98um is the most balanced overall, but I’m not too well versed in kof95, I think that might be pretty balanced as well? IDK Rugal seems crazy in 95. But yea anyway 98um is most balanced.
98UM far and away.
Krauser being top doesn’t really mean much. He isn’t some sort of god. He’s just a very flexible character with strong pokes.
What about Neowave? Isn’t that fairly balanced for the most part?
lol no…Neowave is not horribly balanced or anything, and I don’t think anyone really sucks in it, but the top has some very strong characters.
kof 95 hands down
rugal in kof 95 isn’t that broken
For 98UM, is Krauser the character that was on like every player’s trio in SBO yesteryear? (Honest question!)
Iori has an infinite. balanced? not really.
Almost all of them - 2nd place winner didn’t have a Krauser, IIRC.
It’d be pretty hard to decide the ‘most balanced’ KoF, but '98UM seems to have done a good job in making a lot of characters competitively viable.
dude everyone can kill you in pretty much 2 hits in kof95 and ioris inf is not that easy to set up
i wouldn’t say “most balanced” but if you haven’t tried 2002 um yet, i would recommend it, it’s a pretty solid game with a good character selection
KoF was never balanced, they are so broken in so many ways. Which is exactly why KoF games are so good.
i go with 98 and 2k2, maybe MIRA too
Oswald is SO strong?
Sorry for ignorance.
original 98 great
in UM too much Krauser but also great balance
XI or 98.
Agreed. Except for the Max Impact series, it seemed like most, if not all of the grapplers were OP. I swear that it seemed like SNK didn’t know how to make Goro not OP.
