yea trilogy is broken. its a game for ppl who cant do those combos on umk3. sad :lame:
They are playing MKT GH version for PSX. It is fixed and quite similar to UMK3 in nearly every respect except it’s faster and there’s a couple of really powerful characters. Just eliminate Noob and the bosses and you have an entirely playable game.

Which combos are easier in Greatest Hits MKT for PSX then they are in UMK3 for the arcade? GHMKT appears to be pretty much dead on to UMK3 arcade as far as gameplay goes, just faster all around because of the fewer frames. Unless you are talking about the original glitchy MKT for PSX, or the crap for N64 and Saturn. In those there were tons of cases were combos were possible that were no where near possible in UMK3 for the arcade.
This is sad, as Matt said, MKT is ALMOST as exact as UMK3 arcade but FASTER, that means it is harder to pull off everithing you used to do easily in UMK3 arcade…
Well, as you can see the vids are sick, just imagine the shit we will do on a slower game as UMK3 arcade…
Aside from that, there isnt anymore UMK3 arcades in good shape here so… :sad:
there is only ONE briken character in MKT and NoobSaibot is his name. The others can be as competitive as the original cast…if not…we would not see MK2 Kung Lao losing as we did on the vids…

Thrower, isnt it? when you learn how to do a effective rushdown aside from: Running Lp, Running Hk,Lp, then jump back ALL THE TIME (as showed on the vids), i will discuss with you about hard combos and stuff. No offense intended. Remember that the timing on MKT is HARDER than in UMK3 because of the flaws mentioned above. Whenever you can do Nightwolf`s 4 Green hatchets in an actual tourney match we can talk.

and another edit: you guys came out of nowhere claming to be good at UMK3, but you were playing MKT all along, and basing your judgements using a different game? Doesnt that seem wierd to you? Even you guys claim its a different game. No matter the details, come to chicago, and get your asses beat over and over, or let it be.
I guess this logic also applies to both ST and MvC2, ST with Akuma being playable (but banned in any tournament worth a damn) and MvC2 with the Gambit fly-away glitch etc. (last I heard stuff like this was still banned from tournament play)
Those two games are taken more seriously than MK probably ever will. 
Almost all fighters worth a damn are broke in some form or another, it’s just a matter of degree.
To all you guys playing MKT - keep playing; when UMK3 is not available a PS1 MKT is the closest thing you can get. Just ban the bosses, Rain, Noob, and Chameleon and you have a playable game. As long as you guys are playing and having fun that’s all that matters.
You don’t even have to ban Rain, his infinite takes so frigging long to finish (27 + hits), it’s not easy, or possible on every character. Banning the bosses is a given, they don’t play the same as regular characters. The only character worth banning is Noob Saibot.
Kano’s crazy cannonball has a good chance of hitting the opponent anytime it’s used, thus being blockable any time it’s used improperly, since the only truly effective place to use it is close just like the other two, or as an anti air with the upward ball so it’s as if it’s no different. Doing a crazy cannonball from full screen wouldn’t be worth the risk. I don’t see any logic in qualifying that move as broken.
What exactly is broken about MK1 Raiden? His corner infinite is only feasable after a pop up combo and even then it’s nearly impossible to start it due the lag off his uppercut that is similar to Reptile’s. Even if you do manage to get a pop up corner combo close enough to not be pushed away, AND you get in close enough to start the D+LK infinite, you have to connect about 30 D+LKs to kill, much less useful than even Rain’s.
Kung Lao in UMK3 has possibly the easiest infinite, not in concept, but in application, and I know that Lex consciously decides to do more inventive combos, but honestly, you’re not going to find a lot of other people who will do that. That infinite, or character should be banned based on your logic, but not when you use him. His moving spin is about as useful as Gief being able to move in the vs series on his lariat. Remember it has a limit of 1 use, and no hits before it so corner infs, and in and out of corner combos are impossible, he is severly crippled because of this.
Scorpion’s forward teleport punch is merely one reason to pick him over Smoke, but regardless, damage protection 5 or 6 hit combos = less than 30%, and it’s as easily blockable as a regular teleport punch, and having two of them just makes him twice as likely to be juggled.
MK2 Kung Lao is easily challenged by Kabal, Baraka, Rain, Nightwolf, etc.
What lack of frames are you talking about by the way? The difference is negligable, I use to think there were a lot less frames as well, but it’s no where near true. If you go through and check all the standard moves, combos, they all have the same amount of frames as the arcade. Examples:
HP and LP run jabs, across the board is 3 frames for every character in both UMK3 and MKT.
Male ninja rounhouse frame count in UMK3: 8
Male ninja rounhouse frame count in MKT: 8
Male ninja uppercut frame count in UMK3: 4
Male ninja uppercut frame count in MKT: 4
Male ninja sweep frame count in UMK3: 8
Male ninja sweep frame count in MKT: 8
Kabal rounhouse frame count in UMK3: 8
Kabal rounhouse frame count in MKT: 8
Kabal uppercut frame count in UMK3: 4
Kabal uppercut frame count in MKT: 4
Kabal sweep frame count in UMK3: 8
Kabal sweep frame count in MKT: 8
Just a handful of examples of where the frames line up perfectly, even like Nightwolf’s standard combo which has 17 or 18 frames total is exact on both sides. The only characters who are hacked are some of the old school characters because the frames weren’t there to begin with. There is probably a handful of exceptions by 1, at MOST 2 frames but that is unlikely, and 1 frame is most likely the most common discrepancy.
I’m not telling these guys not to play UMK3, but if it’s not available, MKT is still a viable substitute.
Also, how do pad users have an advantage over stick users (this goes against everything Bill from VA stands for)
It’s not harder or easier to do anything in GH MKT, you just have to do things a little faster, and also, you can do things at pretty much the same speed on UMK3 and things will still happen correctly.
I want to know where this so called frame hacking effects gameplay, it’s not like MvSF for PSX where Omega Red’s jumping HP has like 4 frames and should have 16.

I can beat everyone who plays against me with any other character than Noob. Dont know you but I consider myself a player who doesnt have to say : " hey that character is broken! I wont play against you for that!"

By “still sells the game” you mean UMK3? If so then there is no worthwhile console version of the game in existence; your best bet (if you want to play UMK3) is to get MAME. As long as your computer isn’t a total dinosaur you should have no problem running it just fine.
The only console alternative is a PS1 MKT. Ban the usage of bosses, Rain, Noob, and Chameleon and you have the closest thing you can get to UMK3 on a console. Don’t listen to the MKT haters; while personally I would rather play UMK3, if that’s not an option, and MKT is, I’ll play MKT.
