Mortal Kombat Armageddon... will suck... hard

I heard DOA4 is actually pretty good. If there’s hope for DOA then there just may be hope for 3d MK games.

Like I was saying before. As long as Boon’s head in charge, the MK franchise will go nowhere progresswise. What’s John Tobias been up to these days? Ever since Studio Gigante collapsed, he’s been keeping low.

Wait a second…

I quote this from the magazine: “Even if you don’t have someone lined up for a death trap, the new directional throwing function will allow you to hit your mark.”

IS ANYBODY FUCKING HOME?! Those things were the worst addition to the last game, and they cheapened the online play even more. Why the hell are you going to make it so that people can be thrown into them, when the unblockable thows will most likely be involved in the glitches this game might have?!

Dang, there sure are a lot of complainers in this Forum about this new game. I been to
TekkenZaibatsu, ShinraOnline, SNK-Capcom and a couple other Forums and hardly
anyone had a bad opinion about the newer MK series (PS2). I’m looking forward to the
next installment as I have always. It’s a different game altogether and has never been
really that “deep” of a game anywayz…some of you all need to just calm yerselves a
bit.

because they think a broke gameplay system is okay and are willing to trade for shitty gameplay for a half assed ‘konquest’ mode and a kypt filled with pictures of boon not even smiling… so whatever floats your boat. Here at SRK, a lot of people like in depth deep fighting… MK (newer) failed to deliver that.

While that may be true about “here at SRK” (goes for me as well) MK must be doing
something right because each game is outselling the one that preceded it. If it weren’t
for MK: DA, MK wouldn’t be popular again. I still like the series the way it is. And if people
want “deep gameplay,” well, there still is like what 10 other fighting game out there still.
Go play that shit you babies.

I’ll buy MK this time around because it’s basically MK Trilogy 2, and as an MK fan who will very likely have 50 bucks to throw away around october, I feel almost obligated to get it. I’m pretty sure more info about it will interest me as the time goes by as well.
I’ll still have a little bit of fun with it, but MK could do a lot better with just about every aspect of itself right now. If it was better, it would truly rock. We could have current classic. The sad thing is that that may never happen.
I still hold out a sliver of hope for this clean slate they speak of. It seems a lot of stuff is possible with the PS3.

Well, let’s say that MKA won’t be the best game of all time. It isn’t looking good if they’re programming around 60 characters.

Shaolin Monks doesn’t suck, but it is very short.

Ashlee Simpson sells millions of CD copies.

Does that make her a good singer?

It may outsell because it does have a good following and not to mention their are more gamers than there was 10+ years ago. I personally just do not feel that they have done a good job with the gameplay, deep or not, it is plain out horrible. Almost everyone is about as broke as rain and noob in MKT. I mean, you can fly off the screen in MKD by jumping and switching to a different style of fighting. How in the hell do you get than out into the public???

And dont call us babies because we are disappointed in the gameplay. A lot of MK fans like the storyline while others enjoy the gameplay. And by playing a lot of these games, its clear to see that MKD engine needs A LOT of work.

bitch.

Meh, as long as I can find some degree of fun playing this game like I do in Deception, then I’ll probably pick it up regardless. The only reason I enjoy playing Deception is due to how stupid the game is, and I expected it like that anyways, so it’s all good! heh

More characters and ways to do damage to the oppoenent equals more brokeness! lol

Just got my GI in the mail. Can’t say I’m at all excited outside of the fact that Konquest will play like SM, I’ll probably get it just for that. Some of the comments Boon makes regarding the engine and the air attacks is just disheartening. Like someone said earlier in the thread, these guys just don’t get it. With MKDA I had restored hope, after playing it I was a little disapointed, I say a little because I figured they had created this engine from the ground up. With Deception I was really disapointed, I figured they would rework the engine this time and polish it up, sadly the engine took a turn for the worse and then some. Perhaps third times the charm? Probably not as they already revelaed that they are just expanding on the Deception engine. Maybe next gen consoles MK will reclaim some of its early glory, I’ll rest some of my hopes there, as for this one, I’m expecting a turd.

USMCOgre said the game sucks… and he was the top player of MK Deception back when he was playing it.

Dude, I fucking LOVE MK Deception…and this is going to fucking pwnz0rs hard. Every character and stage in MK history for the win, I will DAMN well buy it the fucking DAY it comes out. So there’s no doubt I’ll see Johnny Cage, Sonya, Jax, Cyrax, Sektor, Smoke, Rain, Reptile, Kano, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Shujinko, AND Baraka all in the same game as playable characters? I’ll get to fight in the Subway, Dead Pool, The Pit, The Bell Tower, and The Shrine in 3D? Fux0ring dizz0pe! And I can make my own character? I’ll put myself in the game and have the most sadistic, grotesque fatalities possible at my potential. However, “re-inventing” the fatality system…I hope they can actually come through with this. Reinventing the signature fatality that makes it Mortal Kombat is one hell of a gamble. Either way, I am damn well going to play it. I hope they include the puzzle game…addictive as hell, I tell you. If I get to make my own fatality, I will make the sickest, most fucked up, and most violent fatality I can think of. Being able to smack my opponent around in the air will be pretty cool. Midway should keep the death traps and multi-tier stages around too. In fact, instead of entering a command for the stage fatality in the subway, it should be a death trap MKD style.

I’m still gonna play it and have some fun for a limited amount of time. I guess you could say that I just love fighting games, good or bad and I have a very high tolerance for things non-3rd Strike/Garouish. They can be just as simple as they want, hell they can kinda suck too. I just like hitting people. The rush I get from competing with opponents in a (simulated) physical engagement usually outweighs how bad a game is. I still favor complex games, though.

I don’t really care about depth when I play Mortal Kombat, I just like to smack people around and find different ways to mutilate them…so I’m not really expecting the next 3rd Strike, but I’m not expecting a turd either.

English, mother fucker. Do you speak it?

The create a fatality was described as 20 pre set moves like ripping an arm off, pulling a leg off etc. You can keep going with these moves with the commands becoming harder and harder. Sounds kinda lame IMO, so I can rip and arm then a leg off, or a leg then an arm. :bluu: Egh, we’ll see.

They also said there will be no Puzzle Kombat.

EDIT:

WTMF? scrub

its fun for a while thats all that matters in mk since mk1, mk2 was the only stable one, you can be an expert in less than 2days tho like seriously have all areas covered lol

and i think the death traps in deception are ok, if you people have a problem with them then you must not play alot of fighting games because theres no other fighter that has that and if you dont like originality then :looney: plus its extremely easy to avoid being knocked into them so its not all bad

i never played mkd, but aren’t death traps just ring outs with cutscenes attached?
