Hey guys, I was the one who went to E3 and presented the MK Team with a disk containing video of all of the ways that infintes, free throws and other glitches are performed in Mortal Kombat Deception. One of my fellow members at MKO made the videos which included text explaining the cause and effect of said glitches. I also wrote up a 9 page document containing a description of how to fix the problem of the infinites, 50/50’s and free throws in the new game. I basically wrote up the new MKA wake up system so that the game would be more playable at a competitive level.
I made a thread at MKO for everyone to submit gameplay requests so that the MK Team would see that the requests are consistant and that many fans wanted more out of the game than just the standard MK fluff. I spoke to everyone including Ed Boon and took pictures of all of the Team Members. I even have a pictures of me handing the MK Team the user gameplay requests and Glitch videos from MKO. The MK Team was very greatful for the information that I handed to them and judging by the new gameplay videos, they took it very seriously. The game now includes the following gameplay requests:
Wake up attacks of varying hights, low and mid
Improved Quick Recover
Tech roll off of any grounding attack (unlike MKD)
The ability to stay on the ground after a knockdown (including the ability to roll)
A high and a low parry
Some special moves can be done in the air as seen in the Sektor vs. Liu Kang video on YouTube
So far, I have not yet seen evidence of throw escapes, which I was told by the gameplay designer would be in the game. Even without trow escapes, infinite throw combos will be next to impossible with all of the new wake up additions. In MKD, throw infintes absolutely killed the game. The aerial combat doesen’t look as bad as some of you make it seem. Why anyone would say that it doesn’t look realistic is strange to me. When has anyone seen a real human fighter get juggled in the air? How could you determine what looks real and what doesn’t lol? Anyway, I played this game at E3 and it was pretty fun to do all the shit the game had to offer (i.e. air combos, parry, even the create a fatality was challenging)
The most important aspect to me (gameplay) has been addressed in this new game and I don’t believe the game will “suck hard” as the title of this thread implies. Will it be 3rd Strike quality? Probably not. Will it be fun and more fair on a competitive level? I can guarantee it after playing it and wittnessing all of the gameplay improvements.

I made this in January, when first whiff of the game suggested they weren’t tackling real issues. I no longer believe the title, but I couldn’t change it because of the responses. Laziness and this weird “don’t do that” feeling stomp any thoughts of deletion.
Hey axeman! I definitely recognize you lol! Well, I do understand why you originally titled this thread as “MK Armageddon will suck hard”. The game was shaping up to suck, had it not been for everyones gameplay requests and those videos that I took to E3, we would pretty much be playing MKD with air combos. Yeah, at this point it’s not necessary to change the titile of the thread. Most SRK members hate MK anyway. A lot of our fellow SRK friends still think the new MK’s look and play like MK4 lol! And, your’re welcome! I enjoyed my trip to E3 as I finally got the chance to speak for all of us gameplay afficionados over at MKO.
Now that the game features wake ups and parries, I wonder if those PS2 or Xbox players who were considered to be top tier will remain there? It will be really interesting to find out how well they do in a game that is equally as defensive as it is offensive. 50/50 my Mileena in MKA? I think not lol!

Although I am really dissapointed with Midway, that they are not going to have the female Khameleon depsite the fact that they said she would be in the game a few months ago.:tdown:
I’ve always enjoyed the MK series, even though the fighting engine isn’t the best. At least Ed Boon is open to input from the fans. Hopefully this new game will have online patches if necessary.
I appreciate the new info as well, definitely makes it seem that the depth might be there. As for why it looks unrealistic…
Even in a game with as far out there visuals as MK, bouncing back the same direction that you hit the ground at is very jarring to me. The whole angle of incident/reflection type thing. It’s physics and though most games stretch them this break is a bit hard for me. They look like they are on yo-yo strings.
I’ll probably get over it once playing though, but it really looks weird.
You’re welcome! Be advised that it still remains to be seen as to how effective these new gameplay additions will be in MKA. So far, they look great and will keep characters like Bo Rai Cho in check. I was dissaponted that Khameleon didn’t make it too, however, she probably would have been just like Chameleon. She most likely would’ve had her own fighting style, but had the secondary special moves from the other female ninja characters. You could just make her in KAK mode if you want to.
