You took a 3 paragraph post and quoted the one line you had an actual retort to.
Let me tell you a little story, think of it like a history lesson. In June of 2003, Jason Wilson came under a fair bit of criticism for how MWC2K3 was run. At this point, I was pretty fresh as it concerned directing tournaments and I had never directed a major. In my complete ignorance of how things get done by real directors, I offered him advice on how things “should” have been done. Jason didn’t bother to respond but Will from Toronto did. He put me in my place, asking me who the hell I was to tell an experienced director, running the 2nd biggest US major of the year how to run his tournament. Will was right to tell me flat to shut up on the matter. It’s not that my opinion didn’t have merit. Wilson did fuck up during MWC2K3. The difference is that it didn’t matter what I had to say because in the end he was Jason Wilson, he saw the error, adjusted and made corrections accordingly. Simply put, I was out of my league. You my ignorant friend aren’t even what I was four years ago. You are out of your league and out of line telling someone who handles bigger and better about where he did and didn’t go wrong.
While you tried to tell me about directoral ineptitude and played the role of crybaby whiner who has no real say in anything. I was already working on a contingency plan without Lars involvement. My role on the matter was drastically reduced, but still helpful nevertheless to the new directors. If you just shut up for once and watched things unfold instead of trying to be a smart ass to people who have been there and done that in the face of adversity, you wouldn’t come off like such an ignorant tool not only to myself, but to your peers in your own city.
And on a small note, if you ever take a personal shot at my appearance again, I’ll put my fist in your face. It’s not a threat, just a fair warning to a person I don’t know who probably got a little too heated.
I already PM’d Brian with the two weekends GTASF can attend in March. If things are set up early or pushed back I’ll make an adjustment to the GTASF tournament calandar accordingly and work something out.
I’m hoping for night time team tournament on Friday and all day singles tournament on Saturday as per tradition.
Payback; I made myself clear in my posts my position on the matter. I have nothing left to say to you.
No you said you wanted to put your fist on my face that’s what you said.
So you’re challenging me to fistfight aren’t you?
I suggest u watch what your saying if you don’t want my boots in your face
I had a quick chat with Smokey and agreed that a Marvel 5 on 5 is a safe bet. I wouldn’t mind doing a CvS2 5 on 5 but we’d need the right GTASF players (ie Roger and Eric would be a must) to make that happen. When I have a better idea of who’s coming with me we’ll be able to figure out exact 5 on 5 teams.
BTW who would Montreal be using for Marvel 5 on 5? I assume a team like Samnang/Smokey/Veasna/Alex/???
If MAT is a 2 day event, the entry fee should be 25-35$.
We’re still gonna be facing security problems the first night. I hope nobody tries to steel anything :bluu:
Alex lives in Edmonton now, and I really don’t think he will come back to Montreal, so the team should be:
Sam/Veas/Smokey/Payback/Smokey’s brother.
 Are you done trying to be a parent while the kids fight it out?
Has the location been finalized? EVO doesn’t even charge people $35 a head and they run in a massive facility in Las Vegas of all places. I’m sure that figure has been exaggerated slightly.
What’s the security issue?
I would hope we’re locking this up as a two day event. It’s a long drive for a single day of gaming. If local organizers don’t feel comfortable running the console setup over two days, I suggest using one of the regular arcade locations for the team tourney on the Friday and the console setup on the Saturday.
