Hey man, Shady carried his team on his back on the Friday. He deserves mad props for busting through Montreal’s apparent top team and Toronto’s 2nd best team.
See in the team tourney, Shady beat Gerjay, who beat Payback, therefore Shady > Payback.

Sorry for not making it to the finals like I should have but I probably had the worst bracket of all.

MAT log
For a first major console tourney, MAT was good. I thank the staff for working hard, Mao/Fred/MagneticHail for the lifts and carrying equipment, and Marc for letting us put all our stuff at his place.
The few things that sucked were:
- Prayers on Saturday
- Too many things going on at the same time. MMs, tournament matches, important cvs2, 3s and mvc2 matches taking place at the same time. I dont think it was well organized, but I understand that its hard to keep everything under control.
- Not sure if we got to use the projectors, but it would have been nice to see important matches on them, especially since not too many people could have a nice view.
I dont know if anybody agrees with me, but I liked the table setup and playing standing up.
After T7, I wasnt really active and didnt really play well during our gatherings, so my goal was just to get some good games against T.O. and do OK.
I did just ok, and made sure I didnt get raped or OCVed lol
On Friday, I got like 7-9 wins against mostly T.O. players (not including their top3) then it was time for team tournament. We beat team Quan, lost to the best team, then beat the funny team top-players and then we played Rogers team. I beat Joker but lost to Rogers. I couldnt block Magneto lol
Saturday was singles. I beat the first guy from T.O. 2-0. That makes it the fifth time in arrow I win my first round 2-0 lol (yeah I know its a stupid stat)
Smokey comes out of nowhere and tells me I have to play Jiggabry next lol I was like WTF, why me? but I wanted to play Jigga and have some sort of revenge after he beat me pretty badly at MAT2 or MAT3.
I won the first game and thought I had a good chance of sending him to the losers bracket when he picked MSS. I was wrong lol his magneto is a magnet, he wouldnt let me fly lol At one point my cyc hit him in the corner, I sj for the standard corner combo into unblockable, but my air combo didnt connect, so that was it for me lol.
In losers bracket, I beat Victoire but lost to Green. Good shit Green, but for some reason I couldnt block magnetos stuff, maybe the TV we used was too small for me to view anything lol
This is what I think about what went down in mvc2:
Its no surprise that the average T.O. player was better than the average Montreal player. We improved since MAT4, but they improved as well, even Quan and his friends played well.
The only thing that bugged me a bit was the fact that we were kinda intimidated. I really thought Smokey and Veasna could do some damage, but I dont know what happened. Veasna before his match against Gerjay looked ridicules lol thank god I was there to support him. Also, I have never seen Payback and Samnang eat so many frying pans and corridors when they played Gerjay.
As far as Payback goes, it was his first major and the first time we counted on him to represent Montreal, so it was no surprise he didnt do too well under so much pressure.
Although I dont feel like playing mvc2 anymore, I highly recommend that you guys keep on practicing. We cannot keep on counting on Samnang to represent Montreal in future tourneys, we gotta step up.
Although Shady did well in TT, Payback rapes him for free
Oh and Veasna, good job winning cvs2, ur the best overall player in Canada :tup:
