I got the buttons out, whew~ and now looking at PCB was just wondering how am I going to wire the Sanwa buttons using those 22 gauges from radio shack? whats that glue looking stuff on the contacts?
just a random ???, while looking through the thread, does this mod have the same effect on a HFS2, prolly been answered already but you know, just wondering cuz i plan to order the parts tomorrow and i just want to make sure.
How did you wire the harness to the PCB for that hori? There is 8 holes for wires 1 for the ground and 1 for the positve, for each direction. The harness only uses 5 wires total. What order did you solder in and did you do anything special for the ground?
You only need to wire to one to the grounds on the pcb as they are all linked anyway. If you follow the connections on the board or use a multimeter you can see this. Doesnt matter which ground on the board you wire too.
Do you mean the hot glue on the connections between the top pcb and the main one? They’re just strengthening the joint.
Is there any advice/guides out there on how to make a template for a stick in Photoshop? I can’t find a template for the metal faceplate on this stick, which I think would look slick with a nice vinyl printout on it.
Dang this thread is still alive hahaha well, looks like there has been alot of FS3 modders since I havent been modding/building for a bit. Anyway, anyone find a sturdier way to mount the stick without drilling through the metal panel? cause the clean way I did mine, Its still solid as a rock but sometimes I wonder if itll thread due to a thin piece of plastic that my mounting screws were screwed into.
Just like what Katryim said, I don’t get why you guys didn’t unscrew the buttons before taking off the cover. It makes sense doesn’t it? I’ve seen guys with FS3’s taken apart with their covers intact, so I know it’s possible.
eh i dont want the original art work
ill keep checking back to see if someone finds a template
Hi,
I have an unmodded Fighting Stick 3 and was interested in changing out the restrictor plate. Would a Sanwa GT-0 Round Restrictor Plate fit? If not, does anyone know of a restrictor plate, preferably round and cornerless, that would fit?
You would need to replace the entire stick, the stick inside the hori is not the same as a sanwa.
Alright, but is there any other restrictor plate, one that is circular without corners, that would fit?
If not, would a Sanwa JLW stick fit in it? I guess I’d be willing to buy one if it would work in the Hori Fighting Stick.
At first this is what I wanted too, but after some research I realized that I would need to swap in the whole Sanwa stick, so I decided to just go for it (the whole modification including Sanwa buttons). The parts just arrived so I’m about to take apart my FS3 and go to work. Pictures forthcoming (if everything turns out okay). Thanks for all the documentation in this thread.
I’m still working on mines, after I desolder’d the buttons well… I’m sorta stuck and need dremel to mod the joystick part… to be continue…:nunchuck:
its been 4/5 months since i finished mine and its still awesome
ill be glad to help anyone here…
