Modding the Hori Fighting Stick 3

awesome!! thank you!!!

I’ve had problems with Staples trying to print out artwork in JPG format.

For some reason, their computer system resizes JPG’s to 8 X 11 paper and of course that’s NOT the size I want my HRAP images printed out at.

Since then, I’ve always saved my images (composed in PhotoShop) as PhotoShop PDF’s. As long as the person printing out the image has the right boxes checked out on their end, I’ve never had an image messed up.

It’s quite possible they messed up the first time I tried this with JPG format, too (by not checking/unchecking the right print option boxes), but I’ve never had a PDF come out poorly since that first time…

JPG’s should print fine, otherwise.

I personally don’t care for BMP images. They’re big files and sometimes don’t open properly on computers or take forever to decompress on a machine. They’re just not as popular as JPG or PhotoShop document (PSD) files on most websites…

PSD are rarer than JPG’s for sure but people include them in case you want to customize layers and change things like lettering styles and so on.

Do anyone know if the PCB in the Hori FS3 can fight into a 360 TE stick?

I want to dual mod my TE stick for both systems and wondering if I can just use this pcb instead of buying a cthutlu board.

Thanks.

Im pretty sure the pcb will fit in that stick. Wiring wise, yes, it is possible. PM me if you do that and want to sell your fs3 shell.

Esurge- LOL at the GIMP link you posted

Probably, there is lots of room in the TE under the plastic layer. But I would really recommend a chtulhu for ease of use

Thats always true, but i assumed hes asking since he has a fs3 laying around that he doesnt use. Why spend more money, when you can use the materials you have.

Thanks you guys. That’s exactly why I want to use the FS3 pcb because I do not want to spend extra for a chtulhu. If I can dual mod the TE, I won’t need it, so I can sell you the shell AJtheMishima.

pming you

for people who’s still using the hori joystick and wants a round gate

not sure if this was mentioned but I was fooling around w/ a peice of plexiglass I had left over from a project to make a circular gate out of it

just line up the old square gate to the plexi and drill the holes for the screws (use a strong clamp), then screw it on the hori joystick and mark the center point w/ a marker on the plexi to drill the hole, I use 3/4 in hole drilling bit to make the circle

it seems it hits all the direction but sometimes a little hard to hit diagonals, so I dremmelled the hole a little bit bigger, so now it feels pretty good

i like this much better than the octagonal gate mod

Hi has anyone made a wiress FS3 from a sixaxis and an AXISAdapter ?

I am thinking of doing this upgrade including a JLF and Sanwa buttons but not sure if there’s enough room?

Can anyone confirm or even better post a pic of the insides?

That would be swell !

Thx

Heres mine w/ the cthulu pcb.

Thanks but i think an Axis Adapter and Sixaxis pcb will take up a fair bit more room than that…

what tools do i need in order to switch the square gate to an octagonal gate?

Man that is such a great idea instead of putting an entire JLF joystick which requires more dremel work.

Okay, I’m finally finished! So i thought I would post the results here where I started.

I thought it would be fun to recreate some original Blazblue artwork for my new stick. I used pen and japanese sumi-e inks on 'rice" paper (shuen) to recreate some Taokaka art but with my own pink/white color palette. I then scanned it and imported it to photoshop for the template.

Probably could have done a cleaner job with the wiring but it was my first project like this and I was pretty anxious to finish it up…

lol very girly stick, sweet looking none the less

Hello great thread been doing alot of reading, just a question I bought a empty HFS 3 and was wondering if the JLF-TP-8YT-SK will fit without any cutting of the plates or such. If it does need cutting which joystick would fit without any cutting of any kind? Thanks

Sorry in advance for posting here. I didn’t know if this was worthy of creating an entire new topic.

I’m sitting over an open Hori EX tryin to switch the buttons, but the wires are REALLY connected to the damn things. I don’t want to use TOO much force to get them off, since I really can’t afford to break the stick right now. I just want to know if they’re suppose to be this difficult, or am I just doing something wrong…?

the stick is modded and your trying to switch buttons but the qds are too tight on them? If so wedge them off with a small flathead
