Sanwa JLF stick with Sanwa Pushbuttons using original PCB and Stick Shaft.

I added some backing onto the bottom metal base to avoid any possible shorts with the PCB

And here’s the finished stick. !

joseraul - I’l take the PCB if that offer still remains open…

Everything you need to know is in this guide, he’s using a wii stick but it’s the exact same thing for the HFS3 except for the last part where I had to drill a hole through the bottom plate to fit the joystick inside.

BigGanja, nice mod dude. I wish there was a way to get the screws in securely without it pinching the art haha.

Also, I called dibs on the pcb a while ago, I shouldve did it in the thread instead so people would know. But honestly dude, if you want it, I’m willing to give up my dibs as long as you do something awesome with it lol.

Thanks Man…
Lovin’ your Vega. Full seimitsu stick

Personally, I would have screwed the plate down FIRST and then used a little double sided tape/adhesive to stick the laminated artwork (with buttons attached) onto the metal plate some, then pushed the buttons through into the top metal plate for hiding screws underneath the art.

My mate just wanted to get it finished so we could test the stick… can’t blame him really
The stick feels really nice and I enjoyed modding it.

Fiveways - Thats very kind of you, but if you called dibs first I will be a gent and let you take it mate.

Hey guys…

Not to be a total beggar or anything, but I am in need of a FS3 PCB…

I fucked mine up through a short-circuit (I’m such a noob) right after I finished my mod (as shown on page 31). I’ve tried to look into the problem every way and I’ve diagnosed that there’s just no way to fix it. I tried to describe my problem here: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=178232

What sucks is that the FS3 isn’t even mine, it’s a mod that I was doing for a friend, so I feel bad for having him pay for another PCB due to my mistake. I’m glad to been able to help others here on SRK because of my mod experience though.

So umm… yeah. I just sent a PM to joseraul. You guys are cool right. T_T

(By the way Fiveways, I saw your mod yesterday morning and it looks really nice! You changed the art again? XD The buttons and stick go really nice with it though. Did it cost more to get them done like that?)

Yeah, no doubt, your contributions to the thread actually helped me get my mod done so if you need it by all means have at it.

I love these thread everyone here is awsome and you all have badass modded sticks. I’m glad I could be in the modded HFS3 family, LOL. Everyone keep on modding.

P.S/ Just a little heads up. I looked at alot of modded sticks here and I think I’m the only one that used the Seimitsu PS-14-G-BK and to me they feel way better than the screw-ins. The flat top is better than the convex top to me. I reccomend you guys try them out. One issue I ran into was that they say they are 30mm buttons but they are more like 32mm. I had to grind out a little more of the holes on the metal template but it was no biggy. It was well worth it.

Good call on those buttons. I used toe PS-14-G-Ns in mine and theyre flat as well. Also, we gotta get some PSN games in man, school has been killing me lately. Hit me up on Aim if you’re ever on there cause I’m usually always on, we can schedule something. My name on there is the same as my PSN id.

Has anyone mapped out the top button connection on the Fighting Stick Wii? There’s the -, Home, and + buttons then I’d assume the rest of the connectors are for the turbo switches. I just wanted to know the for when all my parts finally come in.

I havent gotten my buttons in yet. But if i want to use QDs i have to bend the prongs of the buttons, right? Are you guys just putting the qd on and then bending it? How careful do i have to be with the prong? I just dont want it to break.

Yeah, you need too bend them so you could close the stick up. The prongs are pretty durable. Just remember there metal prongs so the more you bend it the weaker it gets. Usually you have to bend them once to get them where you want them. Hope this helps.

My parts arrived from Akihabarashop today and I was able to finish up my second Wii stick mod. This stick has white/green Sanwa buttons I made by combining the parts of a set of both white and green buttons, using green plungers and white, erm, rims. Sanwa doesn’t make this color stock and I thought it would look unique, so I cobbled them together myself.

I also put Taito sleeves on the quick disconnects to finish up the look. The one button you see that is a screw-in is such because I accidentally went too far grinding that button hole and consequently the snap-in button was a bit loose. The screw-in remedies that loose issue.

This stick has got the clear bottom I posted a ways back. I think it turned out nicely and is a nice counterpoint to the Seimitsu-outfitted Wii stick I made previously.

Looks good Indigentia! Do you have anymore of that lexan? that you would be willing to sell and ship, already cut to size? I live in orange county.

Damn you Indigentia haha, that wiring is so clean. What gauge wire did you use, and can you point me to a place online where I can get those QDs and sleeves? The QDs I used were kinda ass…lol

Indigentia, did you use an Open Barrel Terminal Crimper for those Quick Disconnects?

I am thinking of doing the same, and with the Sleeves, but I can’t find my Crimper.

You could put a Cthulu board in there.

Created a new thread for hori fs art templates, so we have them all in one thread. http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=184817

He was looking @ replacing the board he shorted without having to buy a new one  for the price of an assembled Cthulu board you could almost buy another FS3, haha.

the pcb on the fs3 and ex2 are common ground, right?

Yes, they should be common ground. At least the FS3… I’m only saying that the EX2 is common ground out of presumption. =p
