Hey everyone. Sorry to bother you guys; I know the thread is for HRAP 3 mods, but I am having trouble finding a good site to buy Sanwa and Zaimitsu parts from. I’d like to mod an HRAP I or HRAP II in the near future. Can you guys give me any advice? Thanks a lot!

hey guys is this stick gonna be hard to get in a few months? i don’t have a PS3 yet but i will pick some of these up if they are gonna be rare and if they go up in price. so should i sleep on this or pick it up now while i got some extra cash. they got these at EB by me for $40. Thanks.

P.S. these are some slick looking sticks up in here. Notanoob81 that is the best mod i’ve seen for this stick.

Anyone have any pics of the stick’s guts? Is there any chance it’s possible to take out it’s PCB without swapping out the parts and re-wire it to another one? (In my case, an AE stick PCB.)

Hey guys does the Seimitsu LS-32-01 fit in the hori stick 3? If not then I’m sure it will fit in the T5 stick.

meh.

Can someone link me some tutorials or guidelines (or pics) on how I would go about swapping the FS3 PCB out for a PSone or PStwo PCB, WITHOUT switching parts.

I sold my ps3 a few days ago. Since there is no update on the new FS3 pc driver.
I am stuck with this stick. I am planning to do the same, and use a ps1 to usb adapter for my pc.
But I never mod a stick before. here is a few questions If you someone can kindly answer.
If I don’t want to replace the buttons can I solder straight on the pcb ( red area).
which ones are ground?
what do I do about happ?
thanx

I wanna know where EXACTLY to solder, and if anyone knows how to properly DESOLDER the buttons from the PCB because they seem to be soldered str8 to it

Just heat up the existing solder that’s connecting the button prongs to the PCB and, at the same time, give the pcb a slight tug. The buttons will eventually come loose. Just work your way from one side of the PCB to the other.

My first modding/soldering experience. Switched the stick and buttons to sanwa parts and replaced the pcb with one from a digital PSX pad. The digital PSX pad pcb works perfectly with my psx->usb converter (trio linker II plus, haven’t noticed any lag) and my ps2. Now I’m thinking about some artwork or painting.

Thanks to Kamirasenken and NotANoob81 for posting guides and pictures, I couldn’t have done this without those.

niiicceeee, just waiting for my funds to come in so I can go to my local used games store to get a psx pad pcb, as well as some solder n crap. Imma broke college student so a brotha is workin on a budget dig?

Just got my Hori FS3 for my playstation 3

Just got my Hori FS3 as a gift for x-mas, I noticed the stick is meh~ ok but the buttons I have to press 3-4 times to get the input right when I am playing Tekken Online. Which buttons should I buy from lizardlick website?

My budget was following,

Parts:
Sanwa stick + buttons 35 (from starcab)
PSX digital pad 5

Tools:
20W Solder 15
Soldering tin 4
Desoldering braid 4
Wires 4
File set (for buttons and modifying the plastic part of the stick) 5
Sanding paper 3

So total would be 75(around 105$) + the fighting stick. In Europe everything is more expensive though, and I didn’t have any tools beforehand which were almost half of the total cost.

So this is my list of stuff “to be ordered”

8 buttons of Sanwa OBSF-30 Pushbutton

1 Joystick Sanwa JLF-TP-8T Joystick

1 Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate

1 bat handle top with adapter to work with Sanwa JLF stick.

Does that list sound good to you folks?
:looney::looney:

I also used JLF-TP stick and OBSF-30 buttons, and the mod was fairly easy to do for a complete newbie like me. I like the japanese style (balltop and the square restrictor) so I can’t really recommend those two items. I have read some comments that the bat handle on JLF doesn’t fell correct, but some people have been satisfied with it.

I found a 7.99 soldering iron at radioshack with the desoldering douche looking thing in it. So now I have the stick and a soldering iron, I think im just gonna stick with the stick, and just get new buttons. How exactly would I have to file the button holes to make OBSF-30’s fit in?

just get rid of the little tabs.

kind of offtopic, but will the HFS3 work with a windows PC without any modding?
