http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=177692 check out this link. tells you where to go and what to ask for.
To get this stick working on the 360 it’d just be a matter of replacing the PCB w/ a 360 pad’s and wiring it correctly right?
OK, I’m about to bite the bullet and slap some Seimitsu buttons into my FS3, as well as change out the stick switches and mod the actuator. Two questions that I’ve seen asked but never saw an answer to:
What balltops fit on the stock Hori shaft?
What would be the appropriate method for disconnecting the turbo button and switch without ill effects?
For the Fight Stick 3 Template layout, what size should i print? Letter Legal?
I know the resolution is at 2500x1333 pixels…but what about the PPI? Photoshop starts the project at 72PPI should I change this number to 300PPI or more? If I go to the print shop should i tell them landscape mode and fit to page? how does it work exactly?
If I have to change the PPI will i go into photoshop, go to image resize and change the PPI there or will it automatically change the PPI for me right before it prints?
Thanks,
raggy
Well im still waiting for my parts from lizard lick, but I just recieved my fightstick the other day from buy.com. I main shotos, and w/ the stick and square stopper i find it nearly impossible to throw fireballs and tiger shots consistently. Ive never had a problem w/ these moves in american arcades or dpads. Please tell me the JLF and octoganal gate will help me out?!?
The Octo gate should help in performing the circular motions. The JLF is just a more durable part compared to the Hori stock part, it won’t help you in performing different motions.
Can anyone here provide link to a step-by-step tutorial to modding the HORI FIGHTING STICK 3?
I have gone through all 1-30 pages on this thread but still don’t fully understand the concept of wiring, mainly the cable that connects to JOYSTIQ between the HORI’s stock PCB Board.
Thanks in Advance
The Fighting Stick 3 and Fighting Stick Wii are practically identical so this guide is the best http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179535
I too though would like a specific wiring guide for the FS3, i vaguely think I remember someone saying the joystick wiring sequence differs between the two.
I think the big problem is that most of the people that did this mod/contributed to the beginning of the thread are probably not checking it anymore. This thread was started a few years ago, right? I plan on tackling mine soon…depending on when the parts get here. I’ll try to take the most detailed pics I and step-by-step shit I can and hopefully it’ll save somebody else some headaches in the future. I just have a feeling that I won’t get the help I need until AFTER I fuck something up, lol.
I curious if a set of sanding files will work for this…well except for the last step where the metal board has to be thinned out at a certain spot.
That should work just fine it’s just more manual labour.
Since all the MadCatz sticks and pads are constantly being delayed here in Sweden I decided that I’ll be modding my Hori stick as well. Ordered all the parts so now I’m just sitting tight and waiting.
Thats exactly what I thought as well. The Mad Catz equipment is also delayed as well in Canada though for an extra $20, sounds good for the “drop in” mods but not worth the wait.
A dremel kit wouldn’t be a bad investment for me, it would move my resin kits faster along the first couple of steps.
Well I posted an image of the PCB and where all the wires go about a page back…Here it is again. What other help do you need?
BTW, don’t sand out the metal tabs. Just buy a Dremel. It’s the most useful tool for arcade stick modding and quite helpful in other projects, too.
so i found my old wii shell laying around ( i changed it to a differnet shell a while ago) and decided i would turn it into arcade stick, so far i’ve drilled the holes fitted the buttons and hooked up the ground wires for the buttons that were taken from my hfs3, and using a ps2 dualshock as my pcb (my jlf, and sanwa + seimitsu parts should be coming this week or early this coming week to rebuild my hfs3)
if anyone’s interested in seeing the outcome for the wii shell stick i’ll post up pics once i’m finished with both mods
*this will be my first two mods, so don’t expect anything amazing, just a heads up
hey Bomberman,
I assume “X” stands for the X button but what does “C,T, and S” represent?
Thanks
Edit: newbie mistake.
circle triangle square
Thanks, I remember that pic now, but totally forgot about it before.
Edit: Maybe I don’t. The pic looks familiar but your post a page back doesn’t.
Yes, another more detailed ps3 fs3 stick mod thread would be awesome with pics and all the useful info in the first 1-3 posts. I tried reading over everything but all these pages and most of it of peoples done sticks or asking about artwork. Hard to find all the info, especially when at work. lol
I have acouple of general question.
- How much more difficult/easier would it be to put a LS33 in compared to a JLF?
-If i just want to use 6 buttons do i have to plug the holes or can i just cover them with artwork? Just want to make sure, dont know
-Back to using only 6 buttons, when i wire everything up, whats the best thing to do? Leave the 2 buttons on the pcb unwired or should i still wire them up and just tie them off?
Thanks alot
Im not trying to call you out or anything, but i read that the ps2 dualshock is basically unhackable. I could be wrong though
I exchanged PMs with someone earlier (Rugedman) that put the LS-33 in his and he told me it was fairly simple to do, but he also told me that people that played his FS3 w/ that in it said it seemed hard to pull off QCF motions and he suggested trying the LS-56 w/ an octogate instead or something like that.
At any rate…the second I decide what stick I’m getting and my parts get here I’ll try and do capture every step of the build and post it all up/answer any questions I can answer. I’m thinking if I’m gonna have to mod whatever stick I get anyway then I might as well go w/ a Sanwa instead because theres already a ton of documentation on getting those into the FS3 but if there aren’t any guides for people who wanna use one of the Seimetsu sticks then maybe one of us needs to make one. I just hope I don’t ruin my stick in the process lol
LOL, yeah i know what you mean about messing it up. Luckily for me, the fs3 will be free since its been collecting dust at my brothers house. By the time i start on this project it will be my second mod. Ill be doing my first mod as soon as my parts come in from LL to a Tekken 5 stick. Its an easy mod compared to this, but the case is ALOT bigger too. lol
I still need to decide what stick i want to go with. Im going all sanwa on the tekken stick. Maybe all Seimetsu on this one. not sure though. Thanks for the heads up on the LS33
