this was a identical one, dont have it to take guts atm
pretty much turbo and LR3 buttons glued in and painted over. hori stick octo gate seimitsu buttons wonky plexi cutting and an odd window i random cut out of front.
This was one of the first 4 Fs3 i ever modded. (that’s any controller ever lol) So I gave this a face lift and gave it away. the only Fs3 I kept and love is lillth on page 15
Replace the stick. What i really want to know is, if it’s at all possible without soldering.
I’ve opened the HFS up, and I’d like to know if I can just break the parts the QDs are connected to the stick, cut the wires and put on new QDs, without the entire thing crapping out on me for some reason.
I don’t care what happens to the stick I have in it now. I fucking hate it. That can get demolishged for all I care.
This is a temp bootleg solution, as I’ll be going custom again when I have money. That may take awhile.
if its temporary then your better off putting the stick back in and practicing on that until you get your custom. Theres going to be dremeling involved.
If your fine with that then review this whole thread i guess
Hey guys Ive just got back into the Street Fighter scene after many years of playing it as a kid and then drifting off into other things, well anyway Ive got a HFS3 and I dont know if any of you guys feel the same but the stock stick to me feels like its somewhat irresponsive and doesnt register inputs at times and also feels like it registers the wrong imput at times, I dont know maybe its just me but I feel also that the stick has too much of a dead zone.
I dont wanna mod this stick and change out parts really becuase: A, its a cheap stick and Im only using it untill the madcatzs ones come out, and B: Becuase it will only be a guest stick.
So I just was wondering if there is a thread on Ghetto mods for this stick like here ?
uhhhh im not sure about the microswitches on hori and if you can even open them up. If you can im sure if the design is similar then you can use that mod on the microswitches.
you can cut the spring instead to make it less stiff, i highly doubt you want to make it more stiff.
I don’t see how it registers wrong inputs other than that hori pcbs are usually trash.
You could do the electrical tape mod. Don’t think you can open the microswitches though, or even if you can change the spring.
I’m sure I looked into it when I was modding mine, but now I don’t dare to open it agian (cramped and unruly wiring + bad soldering).
Well maybe what I mean about it not registering inputs correctly would be that it doesnt feel as acurate when I want it to be.
Im akso not sure about making the stick stiffer because Im new to sticks but it kind feels like thats what I want to try.
I want to mod my HFS3 to work on my ps2 without doing any soldering…I don’t want to change any of the parts yet, just to work on my PS2…I have the kind of PCB needed and i was wondering exactly what kind of disconnects would I need.
what kind of disconnect would I need, How much and where would I have to connect the wires?
I had bought a soldering Iron in case…so I have one…but let me get this straight, I have to desolder the HFS3 PCB from the buttons, Then attach the wires from the hacked PCB to the buttons with disconnects? I just want to make sure before I do anything…
As for the Qds, well im not really sure how big they are. i think they might be smaller than sanwa/seimitsu because people can’t just put the pcb back on. Maybe someone else can help you with this
@tegstar well diagonals hit horribly on the stock hori. So that might be a problem. If your new to stix you also have to get used to them as well.
As for the tape mod, i’m not sure if that will even help as diagonals already hit horribly and it might screw stuff up. If you are to try it, then maybe go around 5 times(or how many times Per did it in the video). Tape mod is User preference and you would have to figure out yourself how much tape to use.
Hi guys I have got my sanwa parts and am ready to get my art printed but its expensive and I can just aford the one print and I would like to know what people think of my art I mocked up, I like it but am unsure still
the guide also said to use 26 gauge wire…but i can’t find any so can i use 22 instead?..or will it be too big…? sorry for all the questions but I am totally new to this
Need someone to put my hori fighting stick 3 back together
Hey all, I attempted to put back my Hori FS3 back together and never got around to it. Can one of you experts charge me a reasonable fee and put it back together? :lovin:
I have bought my own parts from the Lizard-man’s store and opened up the HORI stick so far.
This is an incredibly useful thread. It’s inspired me to mod my HFS3 with Sanwa JLF stick with orange top and Sanwa buttons.
Something that’s bothered me about the stick since I’ve used it is the weight. It’s much lighter than I would like, and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on modding sticks to make them heavier. I know someone mentioned adding weights to the stick some pages back, but I couldn’t remember who. Sorry for that. Some elaboration on that technique would be useful, though.
Thanks for everyone who has posted images and advice in this thread.
how exactly do i wire up the 5-pin jlf harness to the wires coming off of the stock fs3 pcb? do i just link all the grounds together? or how exactly do i do it? i know what color means what so i can just solder the wires together?
