why don’t you just wait for SFIV stick to come out instead
much easier to mod

The Fightstick is like $30 more expensive and the TE is $150.
When you say easier to mod, how so?
uses QDs, and theres enough space to put a japanese stick in there. Also madcatz seem to be good at making PCBs so at least you don’t need to worry about replacing one(hopefully).
What are QDs and why are they good. Does the Fightstick have all this stuff too?
Quick disconnects (QDs) are female terminal ends you crimp on to wires that kind of clip onto the end of the buttons. They’re good because then you don’t need to solder the wire directly to the button so you could swap the buttons easily if you wanted.
For Sanwa buttons, you use the red .110 ones (clip looking things) that you can see in the picture at the top of this page.
Well now I think not having to Solder may be worth an extra $30. Is Lizardlick the only place left in the US to get parts? The other site I’ve linked too doesn’t seem to work anymore.
does anyone know if we put in a sixaxis pcb in the hori is there a way to wire up the rapidfire?
so i still have no clear understanding. what is the exact stick(s) that i can put into this stick. i have one that i completely took apart and i just want to put a new stick and buttons on it. you i saw that the bat top sanwa could fit. i threw the old stick away since it was in bad shape. i prefer bat top (i know its not like happ or fanta)
do i have to mod all stick to get them to fit? or can i just get one that fits…
what is the exact mod for doing a jlf? if the sanwa JLW-UM-8 can fit then i will get it also. i already understand what i need to do for the buttons.
could someone help me out please. my questions usually get overlooked somehow
You must mod in order to put any jp stick in. Happ/IL are impossible(unless you change the whole stick somehow).
There are many different methods to putting a jlf in. Look through this whole thread, pick the method you prefer. Or if you have a better idea of putting one on, then do that(and please post about it as well ).
as long as you do not use a common ground i think the rapidfire will still work. I used a common ground and when i turned the rapid fire on for any of them, they all started to rapid fire.
maybe someone should reorganize all the information found and make a new thread, along with that link for the FS3 for windows
ok well i have taken some time to read through a few pages of this thread.
i noticed someone said something about keeping the stock joystick shaft from the FS3 and using new microswitches…which types of switches can i order(best ones) and what would i need to do to the plastic plates to make that work? or would they just sit on there like the stock switches(they just sit on plastic tabs not screw in).
i also noticed that everyone has been talking about having to drill down the JLF shaft because of its height… i dont really like tall sticks so what part exactly do i have to file down? i dont exactly see how/what to file when i look at one that i have here(in a jap t5 stick).
ive already filled down the tabs in the button holes. can i use the stock stick and “improve” the quality of the stick with a spring and microswtich swap to something similar to a JLF stick? or does the shaft alone have a bunch to do with it.
Hey guys I’m doing a mod on a FS3 right now with a Seimitsu LS-32-01 and Seimitsu screw-in buttons. The stick height works out fine, but the very bottom of the stick goes past the bottom of the case so I’m going to need some sort of spacer. Anyone have any suggestions? I’m thinking washers maybe, or an outline of some sort of material between the metal plate and the stick case. Hope that makes sense, thanks guys.
^^ you can buy spacers at home depot where htey keep the nuts and bolts. you also need to buy longer screws to accommodate the spacers. Bring the old screws with you and ask the worker for screws of the same diameter but longer (original length + length of spacer = new screw length)
I’ll try that, thanks man. My only problem with that is that it might look a bit crude? Like it wouldn’t be flush? Hopefully you get what I’m saying.
Yeah I don’t think your gonna have a choice putting such a big stick in I say that since the ls-33 is much smaller but still didn’t fit for me at least perfect.
If it is just the shaft that is too long, you can drill a hole on the bottom of the plate to allow room. I do that for allow a full jlf to fit into a hori ex2.
somebody help me out here
Great thread guys. I’ve looked through the whole thing and didn’t find an answer to the question I have. Plus, I don’t know where else to post this.
Q Is there a way to increase the spring tension or replace the spring with a harder one?
A open up your stick and take out the stick assembly. pry off the e-clip with a small flathead screwdriver, but REMEMBER TO HOLD THE CAP SO IT DOESN’T POP OFF. carefully let go of the cap, take out the spring and stretch it slightly. reassemble the stick and try it. if you still think it’s too loose, open the stick again and stretch it a little more. repeat the process until you get the feel you want from it. )
I was thinking of increasing the spring tension in my FS3 for the PS3, to make the stick stiffer. This was a question posted in the noob thread, and the answer the poster got. I don’t know what stick the poster was referring to, but would this work with the FS3? I’ve never modded the stick or done any kind of modding before. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
well its kind of general knowledge that if you want to increase spring tension you
A:Stretch the spring
B:Get a 2nd spring
people have used the same joystick shaft but i don’t know about the replacing microswitches. There was a mod where the guy put the sanwa on but just switched the shaft with the original hori one.
hori FS3 for my sister,
