I didn’t see any thing wrong with the cord, I’m scouring various threads looking for answers and I’m leaning towards picking up one of Toodles boards to replace the stock one, we shall see.
if you have a friend with a ps3, try plugging it on there
or try a different USB port
you may have a bad pcb now and will have to replace the pcb entirely
if you have a multimeter, you can check if theres problems on the wire itself (imma assume you know how to check for current with a multimeter)
I tried the other ports, and I charge my dual shocks on the ps3 so it’s not that. Unfortunately I don’t have a multimeter. I’m afraid that it is the pcb or the cord, so I’ll be going with one of Toodles custom noob friendly boards to replace the stock pcb. I’ll update when things go down.
Hmmmm…does anybody know what size the function buttons are on top of the FS3 and if they have a suitable Sanwa or Seimitsu replacement?
I made this today:

Sanwa Octagonal Gate
Seimitsu Buttons… screw ins. Do not get screw ins if you’re going to mod the HFS3 - one of the buttons’ nuts wont fit in the case.
Seimitsu buttons weren’t that bad, just required clipping half of the connectors off then they fit perfectly into the PCB. No need to cover the bottom with electrical tape nor to solder any wires in.
that looks very professional! i wish i can change my graphics like that =(
yea getting those semitsu in are tough, one i did I had to ditch metal plate and just use pure plexi on top re spacing the buttons towards the right so screw in would have some space. ended up a comfortable layout
im a noob at modding, whats the easiest stick to buy to replace?
easiest stick to buy?
never heard of that before
if you don’t want to do any modding to get japanese parts then you can get HRAP2 (via import)
or if you wait longer then you can grab the MadCatz SF4 special edition stick
Seems he wants to mod a stick, but is looking for the easiest one to mod.
modding the fs3 stick i mean…
which joystick part is the easiest to install?
ls-33 is the smallest joystick, next is sanwa jlf
so ls-33 should technically be the easiest one to install
but if you don’t want a new stick, then i guess you can grab restricter plates, those are easy to install/mod
sanwa jlfs arn’t that bad to install either. Lookin at the instructions, seems very easy to do so
your still gonna need at least a dremmel though if your going to install a new stick
One question. Is it possible to add a ps pad hack while keeping the original USB and stock parts?
Mainly what I would like to do is convert it to ps2 use. But if I can save the USB functionality, that would be great too.
Would just soldering the ps pad hack to the existing soldered buttons work? Or would there be no current flowing through both the USB and ps pad if one of them were connected to a pc/ps3/ps2.
yep, check the dual pcb mod thread.
http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=146124
(5V for you would be the usb wired pcb (the Hrap one) and the 3.3V is usually the ps1/2 one)
basically, the VCC+ line and common ground line of both pcbs have to be wired together.
but then what ever you do, do never ever plug both usb and ps2 cable at the same time or you’ll fry the whole thing
Hey guys, just finished my Hori FS3 mod. Sanwa Stick/Buttons.

For those who only want to install an octagonal restrictor plate, here’s how I did mine. I believe there are much fewer steps in doing it this way. Just take the bottom off, remove the joystick and the original restrictor plate, then put the new Sanwa in its place. Get a drill and a bit around the same size of the screws you just removed to take the joystick off, and drill a hole through the Sanwa piece, using the original screw holes as guides: (top view)

Then just put the stick back in place and scew it in through the holes you just made. This should have the restrictor plate in line with the joystick top part and the controller’s mounting holes. Takes about ten minutes from start to finish.

btw anyone have a template to wii/fs3
not ex though, that only has 6 buttons, i want to use all 8
Hey I’ve finally got the template down right on photoshop.
Right now I’ve printed a design on my stick. More pictures and progress will be updated soon.
Here are the templates for anyone trying to do their stick art for the fighting stick 3
The length is 34in and the width is 18in if you need to rescale the template on photoshop.
I’ve completely tore the whole thing apart and I’m planning to redo it with a GP Wiz Chip. Progress on this stick will be updated soon.
