I tried to take the actuaters off the ls33 cherry switches just to try it out but it was impossible to hit the diagnols so I put them back on.
Ant those are some cool mods on those fs3^^^.

I guess you mean the restrictor plate and not the actuator. Cool.
For ps3 try this solution, i dunno if ppl already confirmed it won’t work with FS3/HRAP3 or not http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=45209
For ForEX2 use XBCD
For FSwii stop trying to break your usb cable and connect it to the wiimote instead.
No not the restrictor plate cause that didn’t change anything. Sorry I am talking about the microswitches and the metal piece that goes over the cherry switch part like how the jlf has no metal on the microswitch and the jlw does. I guess I don’t know what that metal piece is called.
damn
hiya folks this was gonna be my last mod post today for a stick i’m very proud how it turned out but instead i have a baffling wrench in my plans
this was my newest and last FS3 mod for a while but for some reason the X button won’t respond. on in pic that is not wired atm. over the course of my mods ive become pretty good with soldering. i soldered the wires to the pcb clean nothing i could see could be wrong. 1st i thought the button might be dead. i tried another seimitsu and then a sanwa and still no luck. the i thought the wires might be bad or frayed, replaced them with the QDs still no response with the X button. 6 buttons on face 2 on side (L1 L2) all work perfectly except X button. this is a real slap in the face from the stick gods since it came out great but a critical button won’t work.
Any ideas what could be wrong PLEASE help me out I dont wanna scrap this. or buy another FS3 cause one button out of 8 wont mysteriously work
It could be the ground that’s messed up
try hooking the ground end up to another ground end and see if the button works then
this has happened to me before
EDIT: Thank You Twinniss your help got this thing functional!
now here the final results
my 4th FS3/EX2 mod
Ps3 FS3
Seimitsu 6 blue ps-14-kn buttons
2 Sanwa sdm-18’s on right side L1 and L2
Sanwa gt-y gate with lb-39 bubble top
stock hori stick
This one is special to me, due to fear of space limitations
with screw-ins i rebuilt the top panel out of Optix Acrylic sheet
and made a pure 6 button layout and spaced them out a bit.
Then put a heated-around-edges piece of action figure packaging to make a ripple water
type effect in plastic. came out OK for 1st try.
painted Coastal Blue American accents paint.
Metal bottom plate padded with shop grade paper towels and elec tape over.
I’m loving these fs3 Ghost and you put so much work in them damn you make me look lazy as hell. Nice sticks Ghost looks like you got the fs3 modding fever.
thx! I definitely got the fever right now. I was gonna stop with this one but I think i’m going to buy another! This is all practice till i can get skills up to pad hack and build my own wood case one day. since ive done 6 and 8 button layouts, idea dancing in my head for a dedicated 4 or 5 button layout stick like NeoGeo stuff or a 5 button Arcana Heart stick. :looney:
Wow a lot of good information in this thread. I joined just because of it (also What Up MarkMan?)
Anyway, the FS3 is my first stick but I don’t really like it. I don’t have the cash to dish out for a HRAP so I want to mod this. I am going to make an order from lizardlick.com for the following.
I’ve never soldered or Dremelled anything before, so is there anything else I could get to go along with or get instead that would make the project easier?
Thanks, I am going to go read this thread again.
Sanwa JLW will not fit. Get an LS-33 from Akihabara Shop.
From top to bottom, Green, Black, Red, SKIP, SKIP, Yellow, SKIP, Orange. Right?
When I soldered the joystick, right works and left works when it’s up and left… What did I do wrong?
For anyone interested in an already modded FS3…

From my post a couple pages back…
Can somone help me out…
I will be getting an HRAP3 soon (white version) and want to swap the buttons out with Sanwa buttons (everyone says that they are the best)
My questions is where do I order them from, I find sites that have what I think are Sanwa buttons, but all different sizes and not sure which ones to get.
Has anyone swapped their buttons out on their HRAP3…if so where and what buttons did you get? I wanna make sure i get Sanwa and they fit in the HRAP3. Im also want to get the plugs that would replace 2 of the buttons on the stick, because I want only a six button stick and not and eight button one…can I do this too?
P.S. Should I switch the joystick out as well? How does it stack up? How easy is it to replace with Sanwa buttons…I dont want to break anything.
On this page:
http://www.lizardlickamusements.com/pages/pushbuttons.shtml
Called:
Sanwa OBSF-30 Pushbutton with Vertical Microswitch
For button plugs they are called:
Sanwa OBSM Series 24/30mm Hole Plug in 30 mm size.
Stick is already a Sanwa JLF. No need to switch out.
Buttons switching difficulty = easy.
All you gotta do is take the top off, take the little connectors on the buttons off, called quick disconnects, and put the quick disconnects on the new buttons, and snap them in. Wait… you may need to make the hole bigger for the new buttons in which case you will need a dremel. Check and see if you do.
Thx…cant wait to start modding!
is there a difference between the push buttons and the SANSWA OBSN-30 Screw-In i was thinking of getting the screw in because a friend recommended them to me but was wondering if that is even possible to put in my stick which is a hori fighting stick 3
your gonna have to use them yourself to understand the feel of whether there is a difference or not to you
imo buttons are just buttons, as long as they work, it’s all good to me. Stick on the other hand have much more different attributes to them.
the guy at the top of this page was talking about the HRAP, which is a different stick then the FS. If you want to put sanwas in(i suggest you get the snap-ins instead of screw-ins) your gonna have to take the previous buttons out, and dremmel out the little tabs so your buttons can fit. Not hard to do at all.
Also your either are going to have to bend some prongs or solder with wire so the buttons can work.
heres a guide http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179535
Do note that the FS3/EX/Wii ARE ALL THE SAME
For metal panels you use snap ins. Screw ins on a metal panel will uncrew on you and its annoying.
Also, the above guide wiring plot is wrong. I tried it and it didn’t work. So make sure you check where things are before you wire it up.
ok nice then ill go with those snap ins then for my ps3 hori stick and i saw above what u recommended to Verylaz so ill probably just go with those im just a bit nervous as well about the whole adjusting the holes since ive never used any kind of tools in my life lol, ok i lie but this will be a first time using that kind of tool o_O
