changing index 7 from 00 to FF causes both characters to just freeze on hit… this might be related to the hit that triggers ultra cutscenes.
turning 17 from 00 to FF turns off hit sounds apparently…
anyway i’m going to sleep
also special thanks to whoever said that you can change these things without restarting the whole game that’s sped up my work by a lot
This thread is going to need a sticky and its also going to need broken up into sections corresponding to the type of mod also i’m impressed so far as to what i’ve seen but what I really hope to see soon is new characters added into the game and also a way to add are own costumes in
mmaster_po, I don’t know if what I’ll ask is too much, but can you post some kind of tutorial to change and import songs to SF IV?
I’ll like A LOT of that! :lovin:
And congratulations about your music mods! AWESOME!
I just feel like I should say this. You guys, are fucking awesome. All of you.
Anotak, your work is making me deeply interested. I take it as you’re working in HexEditor? (If not HexEditor, then what program are you using?)
Mind showing us exactly how you’re editing? I tried to change a few values but all I get is crashes. XD
Hey my other account got banned withought warning for copying the links in this sub forum to the alt costume unlocker in the main sf4 forum, and the guy who banned me doesn’t mod this forum so it’s not his problem he said, so you could get insta banned for linking to it, so to anyone who posted them id edit out those links just to be safe. Peace.
Some Great stuff, Would to be able to tweak some of the skins myself but not a clue how,
Like on the Sakura neckerchief thing, changeing it to pink rather than yellow etc.
The PC version is so awesome because people from the SF community can change and nerf/buff characters to what they really should be IE: Nerf Sagat, Give Vega an overhead, etc…
As long as everyone agrees on the nerfs/buffs; the community can make a new balanced iteration of SF before Capcom even does.
Maybe someone should make a thread discussing what exact changes to make then implement them into one file so that everyone can play a "balanced"version.
I’m not bashing you. Sorry if it seemed as such. I’ll use more common sense and keep comments to myself.(seems to be getting me into trouble everywhere.)
What app are you using to edit the values? I’m just using this “Tiny Hexer” app and the “indexes” are hard to find.
What can we do with the information you have found? Perhaps, one day, when we know where the meaningful parameters and values are, you (or someone) could create a little app, which patches the .cmn.emz (or dat) file.
I imagine you could have a bunch of parameters like, hit stun, block stun, damage, stun, etc.; the user could change the values and (back up and) patch the file.
By the way, I f*ed up and forgot to back up the cmn.emz file, so I had to reinstall everything again.
Word to the wise: BACK UP BEFORE ALTERING ANYTHING!
